i just dont see the problem. It is Rng. People in the top10 can still have a better chance but its still Random. It is supposed to be Random.
The Patch did exactly what it was supposed to be. Now people who are not in the top10 have a chance too. People werent at cerb and baal and come at the last second? ok thats something you could argue with but they still have the same chance as you guys.
I like the new banish ending because it doesn't allow one player to monopolize the 10m coins every event. Two Thumbs Up Tynon, a great addition to the game to ensure even the small players have a chance to win something.

This is DUMB. Now when we go into single round mode we have to change our formation on the fly to put our best attacker in slot attack #1 since the whole squad gets decimated after only the first attacker fires. At least make it so the whole squad gets to fire.
BETTER YET - just let it run to normal completion but AWARD the ending hit BONUS randomly by rolling the dice. I think it is FAIR to give a probability favoring to the top 10 in rank order since they worked so hard for it. The gear is crap - we need the coinage. If no one kills Baal/Cerb then no roll. But if he's killed then just roll the dice for the coinage.
Personally i don't dislike the lottery chance at the end however I agree that people should have had to be in the fight for at least 5 mins prior to ending to be eligable or a set damage percent. On one of the newer servers we sat at 5 people in the battle most the time at 10 mins to the end person 6 joined he hit the boss once then sat there not attacking nothing. At the end he joined in on what feels endless and took the prize.
My suggestion is if you want the ending to be open for anyone to take make it just that a lottery goes into death phase everyone who has done at least 5 rounds in the fight prior that or a set damage amount and does one hit in death phase gets a chance. No 5 or 6 rounds of death phase which does mean on some realms he just hasn't died.
If hes gone into death phase for the lottery in my personal view that means he should be dead and everyone gets a ticket. I do like the idea of reward boxs but to have them based on damage percent over damage.
But also on wanting to make things more friendly for the new player this may be one change that does but alot of others and other features in the game do not. But as they are not the topic of this post i will not go into those
Hmmm now this is just to funny we tested something on cerb event and when he was on hes rage mode my buddy didnt hit him all the way till it was dead and he got the 10 mill coins !!
So make me wonder if the player already been selected once it joins the event hmmm
relly make me think if its just like the Heaven Tarven its already set
