Arena Change is yet another example of incompetence.
Congrats Tynon... You do not cease to thrill us with your own incompetence. Now when someone changes realms to chase after a leader card or gem stake in the high ranks of another realm, they will easily overshoot the goods! You are extremely short-sighted in your goals and what you are in implementation is something I just cannot write here. So congrats on greed, now those gem stakes and leader cards will be unattainable and your bottom line will grow and grow thanks to the 150 gems people will spent fruitlessly chasing after them until they realize (far too late) that they will always overshoot the goal.
Same with gem stakes that you see in front of you - since every move forward now jumps you 10 spaces. A strategy to avoid bumping into your fellow guildmates and still have ample room to chase after gems and other stakes is now gone from the Arena.
I guess you have never heard about a tried and true rule of engineering... "If it works, don't F**k with it"... Well, now you have and you've given the Arena a real nasty case of Herpes. Incurable and with frequent outbreaks... Something I guess has to be said about art imitating life - and your servers physically being in Las Vegas, Nevada! (Cheap servers, cheap hookers, lots of "bugs"...)
The changes on Cerb/Baal -- well, it makes it much less likely that the player in the top position takes the final blow as well - First time I've seen the top players in all five realms NOT get the final blow, EVER. It's usually the same person in 4 out of 5 realms that takes the top position and the killing blow. That is going to generate a lot of howls from them. But it is a good change and I hope that one stays - What took you so long to implement it?
I had more to say but why bother? You just want to hear positive feedback so... Keep up the wonderful work you are doing :) Everyone is so happy with your efforts! Happy-happy, joy-joy! Let's buy some more gems everyone! It's just wonderful! The best game ever! Your programmers are probably the best in the world! And your servers are so state-of-the-art! I'm so glad I'm a VIP... (although I do play a basic account on a different server from my VIP account).
Enjoy your game everybody... while you can!
I am Coiner, Hear me Roar... (oh...please...!)
[QUOTE=Kyleena;12977]I made a thread about this rather backward change Tynon has implemented in Beta:
I am very dissapointed that this made it into Live servers.
They might as well have just given all players a random number and pick one of them to be the 10M coin winner.
One can literally join at the last minute and have a chance at killing the Boss.
A very backward move by Tynon, this one is.
------------------------------------------
The change with the Cerb/Baal boss is very good. If the developers ORIGINAL intention was to give the 10M randomly, as runes are given randomly and Tavern results are quite random except for certain VIP players who spend gems to flip more cards, then this is simply being consistent with the way the game runs. The way it worked for the longest time was the #1 or #2 player always got the final blow. 95% of the time is "always" - don't give me that crap about "everyone has a chance"... that is a bunch of bull at this point of the game. Early on, perhaps... Now? Heck no! It's quite obvious that the only ones complaining about this change are the people who rank top 3 in the Boss events. The top player in this that is complaining here the most gets over 13M in gold coins from the damage done to baal or cerb each time. That is 26 Mil gold coins per day. Does that 10M each event have to be yours each time as well? Are you really THAT greedy? What is wrong with a little random in this so that the wealth is spread out?
And the comments about skill and such? What skill is there in camping out waiting to hit when the numbers are low? And what skill is there in spending 2 or 4 or however many gems on that last "instant revive" click? It's the same as the glitch that existed with the Noble Lady - timing her disappearance to click on her to get the maximum benefit prior to anyone else from her next appearance point. Make it random and keep it that way. If you don't like it, then don't participate in those events. I don't like Pirates so I don't participate in that at all. I sure don't like supplementing the mega-coiner's map needs and I get what I need from guild wars in terms of those 10 points I don't get making a sail, so I get my 10 gems from the assistant daily. I just let my map rot.
And Dawnseeker has a great comment to make to those of you who are howling the most - if you don't like it don't let the door hit you on the way out! If you don't like it, don't participate! (Yeah right, I know you'll be there to collect your rewards LOL!) Now of course I have some harsh words about the Arena changes - but not on this. And even on that other stuff, I have my own fix for it. I won't participate in those things that I do not like. That won't stop me from enjoying the parts of this game that I do like but it may decrease the time I spend playing.
