Does the Skill Attack rune help Bloodstorm? I assume it does, but I thought I ask to be sure.
yes it helps him
I put a vengence on him, and though it raises his power like crazy, I'm wondering it was worth it. He seems to only have his one skill attack, not a physical attack. I'm wondering if a lone level 9-10 adept would be better served and drop the vengence elsewhere. Opinions?
Calvin can drain his morale. Other than that all his attacks are skill.
Short answer is I think the Vengeance or Bane runes help - skill attack looks like it's additive to the base attack, so putting Bane on someone increases their skill attack damage as well.
Briefly tested, bane does nothing for skill attacks
No.. he needs Adept.
Actually it does. Physical attack help improve the power of skill.
Tried it out on my Adamanti once after Freyaa pointed it out. It didn't make much sense to me but tried it. And you know what? She was right, it worked! Adamanti skill attacks was much stronger. Same principal for Bloodstorm.
Per the discussion in my practical rune guide, we believe that physical attack is added to the skill damage calculation at a certain percentage. This percentage is not currently known for sure and would require more testing (probably on low level characters with small numbers and low damage ranges).
What I mean is it should be able to be replicated for main hero characters at low levels (e.g. Adamanti shouldn't be the only one it applies to). All you'd need is some reliable way to add straight physical attack to a character (such as chips) and then conduct a battle and jot down the numbers seen during that battle. Repeat 10+ times for each configuration and you'll at least have a general idea.
Maybe it's different on each hero.. i don't see a difference on Blood tbh..
A good way to test might be to have Bane and Adept equipped, then remove Bane.
I think your getting your runes screwed up. Bane is physical attack, Adept is Skill attack. Dawn Proposed to remove Bane, Not adept.
Yes, Adept DOES in fact increase the skill attack. Dawn makes a good point simply because if you have Blood outfitted with a Rightousness over level 7, he starts with 100 Moral, ever increasing with ONLY SKILL ATTACKS. The only way for blood to fire a physical attack at this point is if Calvin Demoralizes him, or if he counter attacks. If your simply looking for a power gain and not actually interested to see if the power gain actually helps in battle, then Blindly throw a Vengence on him and don't care. When I had originally commented on this post, I was one vengence short, and would have liked to know if that Vengence rune could have been better served on another hero, not Blood, and replaced it with just an Adept, no bane. It seems that as long as you don't miss the power number that comes along with that bane rune on blood, you could take it off, only losing a small amount of skill attack. Because, for some reason, Bane does actually add small amounts of Skill attack to the hero it is on. Only a very small amount though. Test it out for yourself, it's simple.
Skill attacks are combined physical and skill attack.
That Is my understanding.
when i add bane (lvl8) to bloodstorm it does about 10% more damage..(40k---->44,5k) on the same opponent testend mutible times in arena..
That would make sense. You will lose some, but not a huge amount if you remove Bane from Blood. I'd say it's a no-brainer to put a vengence on him if you can afford to, but if your short on them, just keeping an Adept on him will work for a short time.
I think you guys may be missing the obvious here... A phys hero does phys damage with EVERY attack. The talent that increases SKILL attack is called Psychic AMPLIFIER. To me it is obvious that a skill attack IS an amplified Physical attack. So of course Physical attack helps skill attack. I've heard this theory so many different ways, but all it takes is to test it repeatedly on same player in arena. I have done this extensively, and have also tested it in WB with blood. Just because he starts with morale over 100 (if runed so) and only does skill attacks unless willbroken does NOT mean he isnt a phys att hero. It just means all of his attacks are (amplified physical) skill attacks. The same holds true for all other physical heroes and their skills...
then to answer your question, yes I do believe it is worth it. Now, if you do not have vengeance on Adamanti, then he would be my first choice for it, then dawn (only because of his base crit stat)... Then blood. If you run Rhize in form he would also be a good candidate for it but personally i like it on blood over Rhize. Of course most people will have crit on Blood also, and having that extra phys att in vengeance can increase the amounts of his skill attack even more when he crits. In PvP he can be key to defeating these people who start out with adam in front with high HP, doing major damage in first strike... In my opinon yes is definitely worth it.
I ended up keeping the vengence on him, and I agree with you, it was worth it. Though the power loss wasn't absolutely huge, it did affect enough to make me want to keep it on him. Shortly after that post I got rather lucky with frags and picked up my 4th Vengence, so it didn't matter anymore. But, for the people out there scratching their heads over this question, I would recommend keeping one on Blood and Adam before all other heroes.
