This is along the same lines I proposed a week or so ago. Servers 1-10 should have like a weekly tournament with a couple server cities as the prizes. You could do a bracket format just like March Madness. Seed the top 16 guilds on the server and have a single elimination tournament that starts like Friday night after GW and carries on through Sunday night. Winner gets the best city and runner-up gets the other city. They keep them till the following Friday night and then they're up for grabs again. But matt is right. Some kind of realm vs. realm event needs to be done for servers 1-10 especially since they have the most active players. I look at the other guilds across the realms on my server and would love to fight them to see who really is the best and not just go by what it has in the rankings.

After reading the different ideas, I have been inspired.
What I now propose is the following and would only apply to servers with 5 realms
3 special realm bonuses be devised.
Examples of the rewards:
double stamina regeneration - stamina regenerates 1 every 5 mins or 2 per 10 mins
any of the city buffs already out there for GWF
Additional guild chests - provided this concept even makes it to live servers
etc
Realms compete in a ragnarock type setting where all of one realm fights all of another realm until one of those realms is eliminated.
SO basicall Player 1 of forest realm fights player 1 of dark. Whoever wins does not regenerate and fights player 2 of the losing realm, etc etc, until a realm is out of fighters
Every realm fights every realm 1 time. SO each realm will have 4 rounds of fighting. Points are awarded for each win, and scores tabulated per realm. Top 3 realms are awarded 1 of the bonuses which lasts for an entire week.
This idea will probably need some serious tweaking. But the basic idea is there and is not overly complicated IMO.
What do you all think?

Like the idea Matt! (As I see it) Something like this would only work for folks who "join" to avoid having every account in the realm from participating.
It would promote realm activity and pride and shy away from the segmented aspect of the current model.
Good concept.

Awesome idea matt.
I agree to this long as I get spec after he fought the other realms :)

Ragnarok style would work too. I like the format and it's already semi in place. Except don't make it JOIN like in Guild Wars. Make it FIGHT like in Ragnarok where you actually have to be online for it to work. And what would be REALLY cool is if everybody in both guilds could watch the battles as they took place. In fact, it would be great if players could have the choice to make a link for really cool battles to share with others like you can with war reports in Evony.

My only problem with a King of the Hill type contest is that it would end up too much like Rag, which is NOT a guild event. And on our server, we know who is biggest and would win everything. No, i say it needs to be a guild event, that is the whole purpose of GW = guilds vs guild. I like the 3 city idea, i think it ought to be just a major event like GW now, but that lasts the week until its challenged the next weekend.

But Rag is mindless fighting and the players that can afford to boost have an advantage over the ones that can not. In Guild Warfare you can use strategy. Why have another Rag?
