What's wrong with this picture? (everyone is getting only left maps!!)

On server 7 we are getting just about all rights for the last 2 days. This morning 3 members of my Guild have claimed benefits and they all got rights.

Update, now 6 out of 7 are rights.
Update, now 8 out of 10 are rights.
Update, now 10 out of 12 are rights.
Update, now 11 out of 13 are rights.
Update, now 12 out of 16 are rights.

I think I figured it out. It s another scheme to sell more Gems. Have the maps of one side given out when you claim benefits and the ones on the other side when you get one from a Guild Chest. This way people will have to make Decedent or Grand investments in order to have Contributions to open Chests and get maps.

I think people have become too spoiled, expecting to get all 3 sails in each day, everyday.

Also, if alliances like the one 3 posts before me (Valhalla on server 8) stop blockading the shore, then maybe more people will have completed sails.

Shore blockading is becoming a more common tactic these days. It forces the larger players to have to get involved and hold spots for their guild. It's strategy and yes it may hurt some of the smaller players, but that just means the larger ones in the guilds need to step up and help their fellow guildies. I agree tho Herby that people have become spoiled to getting 3 sails a day completed.

It is not that we are spoiled. It is that you do get the contributions that we can use on chests of to accumulate for Techs. Also the other rewards are nice have.
If you look at my post my numbers are based on what the members of my Guild are getting when they claim. So far today it is very lopsided towards the right, so blockading the shore not the issue. The reason they do that is to see if some one will steal them because none of their Guild members can sail with them. We need a better balance of the right/left maps being given within a Guild when the members claim.

yeah i just ask people to get out of the boats when i need to sail, they are pretty agreeable. I love the way pirates is now. This is the best change to pirates yet

Strategy aside, I think the point of the OP was why there is such a skewed number of a certain kind of map. It seems on just about every server the numbers are so lopsided that it's not even close to 50/50.

Part of the problem could be as well, in conjunction with the pre-determined thread, is that I believe it's not random at all. As in, certain guilds/players get the same map every time. For example, in my server the "actives" get the same map side 100% of the time. I think the other half either goes to players or guilds that aren't online for whatever reason.

So being spoiled is one thing. Having a broken system is another. I'd rather miss sails because my boat is going down instead of miss them because the maps are glitched.

Not about being "spoiled" for me. I usually don't even sail once, nevermind 3 times. Neither does anyone else in my guild because we're not the strongest on the server. We're at peace with not being able to make it across because we're not as strong. Our answer to that is "get stronger". However, we're really not cool with not being able to make an attempt. My whole guild maybe gets 3 attempts per day. Not per person. Per GUILD. Because we can't match pieces.

Third: YES! I'm spoiled. Before the patch we could get at least 2.5 sails in, now not even 1.

Now, since the maps stopped dissapearing after reset, we are forced to hold the same piece for days.
And clearly the other guilds don't want to steal maps because they are either holding a Left, or do NOT want a Left.

The distribution is very bad and the reset not taking the map is not helping either. This needs to be looked into.
I agree people should get of the boats though since this does make the chances of that rare other piece sitting down or sailing slim to nothing.

make a new character in Aerie. You can visit this person and exchange the map piece you have for the opposite side and it costs 250 gems

Guess what? There's a real simple solution to this whole problem.

1. Let someone make a right boat on the water.
2. Sink it. Use that right map piece to make another right boat.
3. Repeat until all left maps have been dismissed.

You may make it across but how many of your guild mates are still stuck wishing they could sail? Or at least try to sail... There are only ten boats, so the likelihood of your guild members sailing by you holding a boat decrease drastically... Its not just hurting other guilds by doing it, its hurting your guild to. Like it or not, I am right about this. Not sure why people think they need to hold boats anyways, no rewards in sitting there like a stick in the mud.

Most of my guild gets at least 1 sail in a day if not 2 or 3. I take 3 different people a day

And i will be sure to malk a right boat spec can grab a left

Oh and me and villainx accidentally made a right boat the other day, and noone even tried to sink us

Generally this happens with people who can't hang around the game all day spamming guild for maps...so before going afk they park on the docks, to either have someone steal the worthless map piece they couldn't get rid of, or have someone from the guild with the opposite piece hop on to get a sail in.

When your whole guild fills up with the same map, you'll figure it out. Destiny has it, that if everyone makes left boats, eventually there won't be anybody left who CAN steal a map to sail with YOU. Shoot yourself in the foot, fine by me. Claim isn't resetting maps, the midnight reset isn't changing what half of map you get. Downward spiral, to add in the fact that guild chests won't change your left to a right map. If no one can drop a map, no one can sail. Maybe you personally aren't guilty of holding a boat all day, but there are those who are holding the boats hostage so that NO ONE can sail. If players continue, there won't be any point in even playing pirates. Might as well shut it down completely, because the greed of a few, its ruining that portion of the game for a whole lot of people. Sink me all you want, but let me at least get on a boat for crying out loud so we can play.

Actually, I understand what you're saying. What I'm saying is I don't believe alot of people doing it are involved in some kind of conspiracy, rather that they are willing to take the chance of losing the map or sailing while afk. With the current map problem, holding onto it is pointless, as anyone who has a right map will be finished sailing long before daily reset, and there's alot of people in guild chats that will sit there for hours and keep asking "so any right maps? so any right maps?"

Basically, the only chance some people have who can't be in game during the day is to park like a taxi and hope for the best.

evil in the past 2.5 hours i have seen uprising make at least 8 sails. I saw more completed earlier in the day
I see at least 8 people in uprising steal a map, and uprising have about 6 maps stolen and one uprising ship sunk

in fact i see in 2.5 hours on server 1 - 18 sails and 38 maps stolen and this is during a slow part of the day 3:30 to 6pm eastern time approximately

SO what are you going on about? People are sailing maps are being stolen. everything is fine

I'm sorry, EVILSIDE, but you're still missing the point. There's no actual blockade on our server. If you ask, a spot will be freed for you if you actually have a match. The matches aren't happening. We park for exactly the reasons a previous poster said: We're sick of asking if anyone has the non-existent match. And losing the same piece everyone else has is hardly a bad thing. My guys log in, check the seas and jump in if they can. If there's no boats, we do something totally crazy. We ask. Nicely. We have yet to be told no.

Worst yet, everyone with high power levels just sit at the docks all day long and don't let other players use the ships. Tynon should limit the dock setting to a specific time period (ex: 15 minutes). Hopefully this issues is resolved soon.

58 almost everyones still getting LH maps! i get one everyday and it is getting old.. Some of us go days without sailing because of shortage

Well me personally i do not care so much about the Sail rewards..
But the whole sailing thing used to be fun.. and helping someone else across. Loot a map, let them steal yours if you have the wrong one.
These days you're lucky enoough to be able to board.. hehe.
And then you can wait and wait and wait for a Right. There rarely is a Right sailing.. no noob with a right can board cause all slots are filled.

Meh.. i certainly hope this is not how CP will be.. cause it's no fun any more..

I was lucky enough to get a rightmap this morning and guess what? Tynon thought that 2 ppl in the entire guild having a right was just too much so i get another disconnect. I log back to see whatever work i had done in the previous 2 minutes had been reversed, so i had to claim again and guess what? I got a lefty which i can use since theres only 1!!!! person in the guild who had a rightmap.
If dawn thinks that theres not a problem fine, but at least give a random mappiece when you finally do get a sail since everyone is making leftmaps due to the massive shortage of rightmaps. This will at least give a couple more rightmaps over the day and more ppl can actually make a damn sail...

because people are trying to dump maps and noone is stealing lefts. everyone is afraid of left maps like they are a virus or something.

as of 738am server on server 1
29 sails
32 stolen maps

As of 5:38 this morning(its now 13.20 servertime on s8) 19 sails and 2 sinkings. So were having roughly 2 sails per hour which is much much less than what we used to have.

41 maps stolen

oh and evilside if you want to do that you make a right boat i sink it thing. It'll have to wait. Im out of sails already today.

While I understand each server is going to have varied results as far as pirates goes... I think the reason the whole blockading thing is making alot of folks angry is the fact that they can not steal maps from alts due to the fact that the shores are fully booked. I'm sure no one is going to admit to this (ofc) but I think this is what has most people angry about the blockading.

I have a map and am out of sails too because i was able to steal 3 maps (2 right and 1 left) before i remembered to claim.

Now here's the lesson to everyone on every server.
There are lot of people complaining about how hard it is to cross in pirates.
ALot of people are complaining of the lack of real challenges in this game
Alot of people are complaining that theres not much to do cross realm wise
alot of people are complaining about the lack of strategy needed to do most things
alot of people are complaining about how boring the game is getting

So lets see. This "blockade" combined with the lack of one side of a map on a server everyday has answered all those issues.4

This is more challenging. This requires more coordination within a guild. This also allows for coordination between guilds. This gives you something to actually do when your bored. This has made making a competed sail ALOT easier.
Now stop complaining and go play pirates teh new and improved much more fun filled and challenging way.

Very narrow view matt, you are only seeing one server which appears to not have that issue as much. I don't see it on server 2 either. But beta is a mess. Maybe some of the 11+ servers, i can't see cuz i'm not on them. But BETA has been clogged up with rights blockading for days now with no end in sight as most i have seen in my guild have gotten rights today in claim.

Server 7 also gets mostly Rights.

First off beta is beta and i look at that server as a completely separate issue, because god knows what they are doing or not doing on it.

As for the live servers.
yes server 1 is getting almost all left maps since the patch just like every other live server is getting all one side every day.
