Just my two cents.
Hey tynon,
Just a thought, while I enjoy playing and have spent a bit of money on this game it always seems that certain guilds end up attracting all the good players because they can maintain all the buffs across the entire server, making them power up quite a bit more than EVERY other guild on the server thus attracting more whiny players that switch over just so they can get the buffs too, without having to try to fight the guild that now has all the powerful players save a few that don't mind a bit of a challenge. That being said my idea for making this game better and keeping it "fair" across all the realms and players and guilds, would be to institute a debuff for the guild that has owned the property for days/weeks/months so the guild takes a stacking ten percent power debuff per day making it eventually capturable for a guild who's players are still playing not just switching guilds/realms/servers just for a chance at some guildwar buffs, again just my two cents but the join this one guild or never have any guild war buffs stuff is kind of demotivating and makes a lot of players quit playing or leave to join the ONE guild that owns all the properties.
again just my two cents.

This is why cross server GW sucks, and why split into realms u have a number 1 guild in each realm, and a powerful player each realm.
So there is more competition and more fun.
-
Not really more competition. Its just like having multiple 'new style' servers in one place. Instead of 1 uber guild dominating the server, you have 1 uber guild dominating each realm. It's the same thing really, since without any cross-realm interaction it might as well be a whole different server.
-
It used to be that cross-realm conflict was carried out in the wild. Since they capped pvp tries and decreased it to 3 levels lower that is attackable, that's all but over too. I play on an older server with cities in each realm...I like that system personally.

It's horrible if you are not in the top guild in the server you get crap buffs and grow slower than anyone in the top server so they will continue to stomp you into the ground as they grow twice as fast....so you will get discouraged leave the server and try again abandoning your time and money from the last server because it is no fun half of these players will not try again on a new server they will just leave the game entirely because tynon has effectively made it no fun to play anymore. If it was done this way there would still be an uber guild per realm but lets face it there aren't enough active players left on the server to even fill those three guilds cause everyone moved to the uber server guild got in or didn't and quit. now there is just the remnant waste of players that enjoy a challenge on the outskirts in other realms fighting this god like force with no opportunity of evening the score up. So the UBER guild in the one realm on the server will have a bunch of cowards that moved there to get carried into free buffs and the few stand against the many the weak against the strong i's tiring that there is no reward for beating your swords against unbreakable shields. Either change the way GW works and institute a debuff or make a cataclysmic event that takes all the players that have been active over the past two weeks counts them divides by three and drops them into new realms.

Until there is a way to limit the amount of power that a Guild can have we will have the problem of 'Uber' Guilds.
-
I'm on one the first servers and we still have the separate realm Guild Wars. In my humble opinion it works although we don't have much inter realm interaction, the big players are spread about the server. Yes, there are dominant guilds in each realm but it keeps the server more active overall, that and by having more guilds more players have a better chance at being in a guild with buffs.
These reasons are why the players on these servers (mostly) wish to keep it this way and are against it being changed. Cross realm Guild Wars encourage the evolution of single uber guilds. Removing the buffs after an a alloted time removed the need to have a GW altogether. Instead of fighting for it we will just bid to have the buff this week. I can't see that being too popular but I can see why the OP suggested the idea. It's frustrating to be the one who doesn't get the buffs.
