Used to be due to a bug that was fixed in the last patch. It should not happen any more.
Andy are you a moderator or Dev? Or how are you certain it was a bug?

it has only been posted by a player that they were told in a support ticket that it is a bug. Dawn has not confirmed that it is a big. In fact Dawn's response in a previous thread suggested that getting more then 3 sails a day is not an issue to the dev team. Basically he responded to someone saying that they didnt like getting sunk even more by the same guild so they could get in their extra sails was fair. Dawn's response was THAT IS WHY WE CHANGED IT SO YOU GET HALF REWARDS JUST FOR SAILING. So to me that means we may get our extra sails back.
I hope we do not. It is hard enough for the little guys to get across without the big guns (an I am one of them on my server) sinking them many times a day. By keeping the limit at 3 they have a fighting chance of being able to sail late in the server day when most of us big guns have has their 3 sails.
COuldnt disagree with you more. Most of the big guns on server 1 take the smaller guys with them for all 6 sails. And usually sink the bigger guys for maps.Quote:

This has been recently fixed and is no longer possible. From what I understand it was a glitch and although it was a quite a profitable one it's been repaired.
It sucks!! It was a bonus for spending. On our realm we larger players got more guildies across with it. Many are not big enough to steal maps, either by sinking or onshore, so when they get sunk that's it for them for the day. And since assistant requires a completed sail to count, they often could not make it without. Now we all know that you don't have to sail to meet assist, but then you MUST make either a GW or banish. Since banish are timed during the workday, or in the middle of the night for aussies/kiwis, some can't always. Yes people got sunk, but that was the whole design of Pirates and was fun! And i honestly don't think it has made it more fair for little ones, it's the mid- to high powered guys that benefit. I wish it would be reinstated. Specially for Sat sails so more could make the gems.
Besides, we paid for that. Tynon made money, and we contributed to the guild by doing it. Was at personal expense. Now Pirates is like rev's and all the rest that are limited, less warlike and cater to small accts. PFFFF :(
