There's always Skype. It's a great place for coordination between guildmates.
What VillainX said.
If you can play an MMO, you certainly can Skype.
Skype, Vent... plenty alternatives..
But...if a spy is in your guild, how would a private channel or being on skype stop that? Obviously you don't know who it is or they would be kicked out, and if you invite guildies to an alternate communication then the spy would technically be invited to. Or is there something I'm missing?
Not true. If they can play an MMO at work then they can have a browser installed that supports flash. Nothing more, nothing less. It does not mean they can install 3rd party software, messaging widgets and a host of other crap.
How about this instead, Herby? Since it's a darned MMO, maybe the whole communication system that lets people talk to each other could use an overall to bring it into this century. Comms is obviously an afterthought. Except for that spamming splashing nonsense they seem so fond of all day.
You're right Herby. Not sure why I should expect an MMO that potentially costs money to have anything reasonable in place to facilitate communications during the one event that actually has guild members able to work with one another. My bad. You know what? Rather than rely on Tynon to write us a game, how about we all go outside and play jacks or dice? Or maybe we could all flash mob. That's sort of an MM-NotO. Anyone up for a good LARP?
If they're in the business of gaming and entertainment, on the other hand, perhaps they want the opportunity to improve their product. This would improve it instead of putting more eyes on other software, no doubt supported by other ads for other games and places to spend money.
Look spies are part of ANY MMO out there. That's just how it is. The game maker can't really do anything about spies as its strategy and not against terms of service to have a friend inside a different guild. Tynon already provided 3 different channels in their chat, if you can't trust your guildmates, then a password protection on chat channels isn't the answer.
