Dear Dawnseeker, will we be getting new content anytime soon

Dear Dawnseeker
I and many others believe this game has unlimited potential and really like the game. but we are getting bored.

There has not been a new hero in weeks and there are 4 ranks which do not have heroes still.
HR and quest bosses seem over powered slightly to slow down progression
extremely long cool down times are boring us
there are no mini games to play
and then theres this looming threat of a change to gwf and arena with the post you made weeks ago - which we really haven't heard anything about in a while.

Could you give us some kind of game plan, a timeline, something semi definitive, and not just "we are working on stuff be patient."

I would really rather see you come straight out and say something like " Sorry at this time we have no definitive plans to release any new content. It will be at least 90 days before new content is added" Even though that statement may break alot of hearts at least then we would know. And I would rather know the truth then just get fed a line to placate me for a few more days.

So could you please fill us all in on:
the release of new heroes?
the release of new content?
any chance we will get some mini games?
will gwf be changing?
will arena be changing?
will the quest bosses and hr bosses remain unchained and will require pure luck and weeks upon weeks upon weeks of cool downs to get enough power to beat the next one?
will gwf be fixed or will it remain glitched forever?
will we ever be able to claim gwf rewards without refreshing?
will the power display ever be fixed from when you upgrade armor to show the correct amount of power the first time?
are there plans for expansion past level 100?
will there ever be ranks past general?

and any other info you care to share would be appreicated

Dawnseeker can only give you the information he's been given. Reading through these forums I can tell you that the new heroes are sometime off and no decision has been made on the proposed changes to the Arena and GWs.

I get the frustration, but you gotta have some patience. Rome wasn't built in a day and I'm also sure Dawn will update y'all as soon as you as he knows anything.

I will allow this thread for now, but if I see anymore spam or bashing going on I will close it. It's up to you guys to prove you can air your views responsibly

I'm not sure what constitutes responsible, since it seems to be subjective. You can't air grievances without something sounding like a "complaint." You can't fix grievances that don't get aired, and as of now there is no other avenue to do this. Trouble tickets get canned responses. I would think the dev team would be keeping more of an eye on their project. Why aren't they? Why would Dawn start a thread and completely go hands-off for weeks at a time?

Anyways, hope some of the OP questions get answered.

Responsible is not spamming, trolling and flaming. It also means posting within the rules. Arguing that you have been 'censored' and therefore have 'no freedom of speech' is not responsible, especially when you've been given reasonable reasons why this or that thread has been closed.

You can be critical and you can post suggestions but bear in mind what I've said.

I take no ones money, I'm not a Tynon employee. Believe it or not I'm actually on your side and critising me will get you no where. I'm just telling you what I've read from Dawn's posts. It doesn't make me all knowing, just wise enough to know that it isn't going to happen overnight.

I dont know about you but i have little knowledge in coding, But seeing as heroes are already out there, bloodstorm being one of the ones we fought why not give us persuer in our tavern?
This would not only keep people happy but buy you the time needed.

Maybe someone who is more exp with coding can answer if its so hard to switch a boss to a possible player hero?

I have been suggesting this for a while. We all know that huge fixes and in game content, mini games, etc take time. Why not throw everyone a new hero to spend all these spirits on? I mean, people have been at the point in the game for over a month where they should have gotten a new hero to flip. People spent money to get there as fast as they could, and still are, why I don't know. I'm being 100% serious here, this isn't a immature rant from a rage infested mind. We are 4 heroes behind. Countless HR bosses are unbeatable. If you do happen to beat them after DAYS of clicking, don't count on beating it again. People are quitting, selling accounts, overlooking the new servers even. It took Evony years to get to the point that Tynon has hit in 122 days + Beta. I'm most likely one of the few members of this forum that actually stands up for the Tynon Dev's and employess once in a while. I get that this isn't easy and what-not. I never make blatent demands, etc, etc... I'm at the point where I simply don't know whats going on, because of one very elimentary reason. Comunication. There isn't any. We have Dawn who gives us periodic patch notes, and vaguely answers questions as he can, but that doesn't seem to be calming the masses at all. Actually, it's only infuriating people more. I'm a patient person, despite my questions here & there. I can wait for a long time, so long as I feel the end game is gonna be epic enough to make the wait worth it. I think a statement from someone would be great. As Matt said, even an answer like "sorry we haven't even started thinking about it yet" would atleast give people a direction to go towards.
Over a month ago, someone asked about new heroes. They were told back then that they were a ways off. To me, one month is a Ways off. Now we are backlogged by 4 heroes, cannot progress any further in the game and most are at very least "contemplating" leaving the game, if not sold and gone already. I'm going to hold out. It's not hard for me to open another browser tab and play another game, or maybe not use the PC at all, but I think a time line would be respectful. I'm sure that a patch will be released in a week, with no warning, overnight, and everyone will forget how mad they are right now anyway. Lesson learned guys.

It's almost like having Maria as a player-hero.

Which if I may expand on that is why no one has heard anything yet. There is only so many times you can say 'there is no news on the heroes yet, other that they are still in development'. By those are my words not Tynon's and as a player like you guys and therefore have about as much knowledge on current game development as everyone else on this thread.

I disagree. A basic rule of marketing is to do market research and see what the customers want to pay for. The tread asking for opinion on server wide Guild wars is a step in the right direction, but not enough. The game is dying because it has become tedious and frustrating for most players. From reading the forum I can see that there Appears to be one thing that just every one agrees on and it should not be that hard to implement. Do something about the 100 gem cost of removing a level 4. This should not be hard to implement and it will show that Tynon is responsive to the customer's needs.

Believe me, in customer service, it is very rare that "i'm sorry, we're wrong" is said as a reply. The best avenue is to just stay silent.
Try to view other game forums and count how many times the game developers or community managers say "i'm sorry" or "we're wrong".

The game is "dying" not because it is tedious and frustrating for most players.
It is because players don't have patience.
And if the game was "dying", I doubt they'd be releasing new servers.

I've read your posts and I noticed you're a VIP8. That's 50,000 gems.
Why can't you just unsocket your level 4 gems if you have the massive itch to replace them?
You're the only high-level VIP I've heard of who complains about the 100 gem cost of a level 4 gem unsocket.
All other high-level VIPs just replace their gems as they see fit.

Do you know the difference between a level 4 gem and a level 5 or 6 is really not that much?
The defense gems are not even worth upgrading unless you have really high level defense gems and lots of unspent gems.
Only the offense gems and the HP gem is even worth considering upgrading past level 4.

Good customer service is admitting your wrong, bad customer service is staying silent.

I am a high Vip player who dislikes the 100 gems removal cost with no prior warning.

The game is dying out, from server 40ish id say u be lucky to get 100 actives per server given that there are around 300 actives in the top 5 guilds on server one then plus all the others, id say thats a pretty big decrease in numbers given the game is so young, and they are not creating new players to the game just people who are trying to better their previous efforts on the older servers move to the newer ones.

And to say Andy has not got patience is kinda wrong he is still here? means he has some sort of patience.

level 5 topaz 564 PD, level 4 topaz 324 PD, with 9 slots being available on the sirius gear that 2160 difference, thats just one level up, although dont seem much in the grand scheme of things it is more than the level 4 by 2160 PD

By itself, Pursuer is powerful but not OP.

But join him with bloodstorm, cianna with Light set, and shayd, then you've got 3 stunners and 2 with continuous rage.

Heroic and Quests would become too easy.

Not to mention how much damage you'll inflict on Baal or Cerb.

more damage on baal means bigger baal :) WOOT WOOT!!

And it would be available for everyone of the set rank so no1 would really be at disadvantage.

Herby, I spend money and I want the 100 gem fee for gem removal gone.

I find your statement that no one really complains about it to be baseless, yet you persist in stating it as fact when person after person has asked for this. If you want to pay for it, go for it.

I do believe Dawn is ducking many questions over bugs and glitches in this game, as well as the thread he started over GWF and arena changes. I'm optimistic about the new heroes, but I have a feeling it will be Christmas before I see any of them.

On the other hand, the new arena just doesn't seem sensible and looks to be a huge waste of effort on the developers' part, which could have instead been allocated to fixing all the current glitches and bugs in the game currently.

Now that the community knows this cross server arena is comming there will be lots and lots of gems bought to get the powerlevels as high as possible. Since Tynon cares for the customer('s money) they will cater to this ;)

I agree. Even the post says a lot, it actually, also says nothing what so ever. We knew they had to bring out new heroes etc. So him confirming that doesnt really change anything. The lack of any eta is also a bit worrysome....

As much as I can see the points being made here, what y'all forgetting is you made numerous threads that were asking for news, so Dawnseeker obliged..... but now it's not enough. You can't have everything I'm afraid.

uCool as a rule (noted from my experience) do not discuss bug fixes and glitches since they could be used in exploits.

Yes really.

Pursuer as a player hero is exactly what his game needs.
In PvP it wont matter. The players iwth enough rep to get it will get it keeping those players equal. If you dont have the rep for it, well you are probably too small to be attacked by someone who can get it. And these players w/o the rep to get pursuer who have to face players with pursuer in PvP such as Arena,Pirates, and GWF - well most likely would lose any way in these matchups.

In terms of banish the worst thing that can happen giving us pursuer is a bigger banish boss, something many of us are waiting for. And there is already something in place that limits damage and makes how much damage you do in banish a lottery system, so I seriously doubt pursuer would make a significant change there.

In regards to using pursuer in quests and HR, since beating these bosses requires the random luck of stuns, we need a 3rd stunner.

Now in terms of people saying that Pursuer would make quests and HR bosses too easy, You are not thinking it all the way through. First off what stunner has a high stun rate? NONE. In fact I battled pursuer about 25 times before I even saw wild abandon stun. SO its stun rate is as bad if not worse then Shayd's. In terns of its continuous rage type effect, so what? most of the bosses at higher levels have a similar effect to their skill attacks. I have not seen pursuer to have the same passive as blood, it may, but I have not noticed it. And even if pursuer does have blood's passive they can remove that to balance it out if needed. Its not like they don't nerf our heroes from time to time.

Everyone thought Adam at first would over power things, it didnt. Same was true with blood, it didnt. In fact their power was exactly what we needed to progress further in the quests and HR. That is why I think Pursuer is the perfect candidate for a new hero.

Actually Dawn has told us frequently in the past when they were aware of bugs and were working on them. Or announces that a fix for a problem is on the way. Currently he is ignoring the posts about power display issues, black widow HR big display, and GWF glitches.

matt has some good points. All the newest heroes were overpowered until people learned to defend against them, but once they learned, the newer heroes weren't as big a deal, and then they have a tendency to get nerfed. I call this the GI JOE effect. In the old GI JOE cartoons, whenever they introduced something new, it was the most powerful thing that's ever existed. Sgt. Slaughter was a great example — he spent his first three episodes kicking things into exploding and swinging punches that could take out legions. Five episodes in, he was just like every other GI JOE member: good, but among the pack.

One thing that I'd really like to see in preparation for these new heroes is a reduction in price for Adam and Blood in the Tavern. 1500 and 1800 spirits are too expensive as it is, and if the devs follow suit, then the new ones will run a whopping 2k. I think that 1k should be the standard price for gold heroes, similar to the way the purple heroes are 500. Make the new heroes to be chartreuse heroes that cost 1500 or something. As it is, yes sainting them is supposed to be a pain, but it's just too expensive similar to the way summoning the rune keeper costs 200gems is too expensive.

I think that the spirit accumulation should occur 1 per spin, and then the bonus for hitting gold heroes based on level should be kept in place as is. This would mean that a spin with no gold or purple heroes isn't wasted credits (104k per spin for me now), and I'd be less frustrated in spinning for it.

I so love the old school example. Awesome.

And I think BigPapa is right on target with changing the costs of gold heroes and adding a spirit for just spinning. These spins are getting EXPENSIVE, yet theres few ways for us to up our income of credits significantly, to keep up with the ever increasing costs in game. These ever increasing costs are a double whammy on high level players. We get hit with the high costs and the higher cool down times

Also the reduced cooldowns for talents that were implemented a while back make it a fair bit harder to keep spare credits on the side for refreshing the tavern.

You are absolutely right, I m just not sure if I should complain about it or not. Its a double edged sword. Yes we can upgrade things faster and get more done on Thor's day. Then you have to give up doing so much else all week long to save up for Thor's day.

Yeah, I like the cooldown reduction in talents/blacksmith. It does mean we have to be a little more frugal, or it means that we just have to live with the fact that there will be times on Thursday when we won't have anything cooking. Either way, I think cd's were too long before — and working on talents, I'm back up to 2day cd's again lol.
