Upcoming Server Mergers

As Tynon continues to add more new servers and new players, we're going to start combining some of the smaller servers to increase the fun and competition. This will mean that players on several different older servers will be combined into new servers with higher player limits! We'll release details about the mergers (like which servers will be merged and when) in the coming days and weeks and we'll also have more details about how the mergers will work.

In the meantime, rest assured that your data will be preserved and that more players means more competition and more fun!

i think this will be like after 2 yers or something coz we are waiting for new hero and tynon champon from 14-10 they say few weeks

I have some questions on this:

1. Will all the players in one realm be moved to one realm in the new server? If not, will all the players in one Guild be move to the same realm in the new server?
2. Will the Guilds move? That includes the cities that they currently have. If not how will it work?
3. Will Guild Wars in the new server be Realm wide or Server wide? If not how will it work?
4. If the realm is not moved intact, what happens to arena ranks?

I hope that Guilds are moved intact. I have a lot of friends in my Guild and having them split on different servers or realms would not be acceptable.

i will add something with andy are u gona mix up like euro server with us or asia
or it will be euro to euro etc

are you guys gonna include a 72 hour free realm transfer so those who have not used there free realm change can keep it?

I'll give more details later, when we're closer. There will be no further information given at this time or in this thread. Please feel free to chime in with any feedback!

I think a merger will pep things up a bit, but we really need more game play I am waiting for new heros for my formation with special attacks

Good news.

This is great news because the game is starting to get very stale for many of the big players who have topped out in levels and quests and who are essentially just biding their time waiting for something new to happen.

To be honest, I'm in two minds about this. I've been through a merge on an Evony server and while it was 'exciting' for a short while at the end of the day nothing changed. I've also experienced it on another game....nothing really changed there either. A merge doesn't solve all the 'server population' issues, if it doesn't work out for players quite a proportion start again on a brand new server.

Although it's what people hoped for, I think too much is being pinned on it. This is going to be someway off, so my suggestion would be to focus on making your current game less stale.

I'm for it in general. I wouldn't be very happy if this means we lose our realm guild cities if we were a part of the merger. I think server wide GW would be a lot less interesting because most people would pile into one guild per server rather than 1 guild per realm.

If you merge several servers together, there wouldn't be enough space in a guild to put all top players in it.

I hope they limit guild sizes to something smaller, and increase the amount of contributions per investment, to encourage diversity in guilds.

I agree with Morgan. I am on a couple of dead servers just wishing I could delete the Hero. Merging dead servers is not going to enliven them - they went dead for a reason, mostly because of the server wide Guildwars IMHO (I am also on one of the first 10 - it is still fun there!!).

I am not sure on this one, Has potential....potential for good and bad. We shall wait and see how this one works out.

I'm going to agree with Herby on this one. As much as we like ea other, and have lots of big players together, what this game lacks is a competitive GW or enough PvP. It might be good to make smaller, but more guilds to compete. Only thing is they'd have to be able to reach equal levels faster or no one will want to move. Unless it went to a server-wide GW.. which i don't really support. I'd rather see more guilds per realm, and keep realm GW.

And you'll still end up with the same issues. Big players will end up in a top guild and the rest in the smaller. The only difference being you will have less players than you started with.

Although no one can argue with the sentiments, there is no real solution to the problem. I've just come to accept the game for what it is.

Usually big players have big egos as well.
They will not stay in one guild because this means they will have to compete in one arena.
Big players want to be #1 or 2 in the arena everyday.

Thus, they won't want to bunch up in one alliance only.
And since there will be 5 realms, they have a multitude of arenas to choose from.

Ah the winds of change I can feel your sweet breeze. I for one hope this works out for the best and think its something that should be tried.

Which is what we got now.

I actually like this idea.

I can see this working. The best way to handle it would be to take three- five servers from the same time zone (e.g. West Coast). Then have each server become a new realm. This would mimic the model of the first ten servers with realm wide guild wars, and make sailing more competitive. Guilds, cities, and rivalries would transfer over intact. With this said, I am not certain if five realms is optimal. I preferred the four we had when beta started.

I have a concern about players with one character on two or three different servers that merge. One account per player per server is the rule. I have VIP status on four servers, with three characters still active. I would not like losing one of those characters.

An option for high VIP players (say VIP7+) to transfer their characters to a special server might be of interest. This would provide a special challenge for the strongets players.

all the speculation, it is fun to see you guys make up scenarios of what they might do and treat it as gospel truth.

Bull ****. Stop ****ing messing with VIP players, thanks to them you can play for free.

They can spend their own cash, or daddy and mommy's cash at their convenience..

The real problem is that the Guilds are not balanced in power. If there was a way to limit how much power a Guild can have it would lead to formation of several guilds that can compete with each other. Of course, then there would not be any way to prevent the top guilds to become allies, but at least it would be a step in the right direction.

Having said that, this can not be implemented on exiting servers (merged or not) because it would force the exiting guilds to break up.

Limiting a guild on power isn't the best of ideas, why try to punish players who work well together and are strong? I think merging servers will create a lot of competition within realms...

Can you come up with a better way to fix the problem? As long as all the top player can join one guild there will be no competition between guilds.

I know you have all been wondering hwy I have been so quiet on forums lately and here is why. I have been working on this exact issue. What to do about the fact no matter how you slice it, all the top players of a server could just join one guild and dominate. SO after a few weeks of work with slide rules, lots of complicated equations, a very powerful computer, logging some time at MITs lab, lots of red bull and coffee, I have figured it out. I like to call it the ULTIMATE SOLUTION.

Be one of the top players and join that one guild.

There ya go. NOw that I have divulged this solution, the devs will probably change it so that don't work any more. But until then ENJOY

I gave my opinion about your statement. I don't see anything wrong with that.
Booya can go to "sleep" since he's through with the game as it currently is.
But I said I bet his power still goes up even if he has nothing more to fight.

On the other hand, looking at your stats and equips, are nowhere near the Justice level of quests and bosses.
So still a long way to go before you go into "cryosleep".

I would much prefer if Dawn said that they are having problems with new heroes or skills, rather than be palmed off with some other BS

I have 3 characters of the same name on the 3 oldest servers of the same time zone, I hope merging doesn't imply choosing one and deleting the rest
