What runes are best for Bloodstorm
Attack, physical attack, rightousness (or next best morale rune you got if you dont have this one for some weird reason), crit, hit rating, dodge (he gets 40 without runes or saint levels so yeah you better have one on him). I suppose HP is a must too, after that I would say its up to you.
In order of what I personally think best.
- Physical Attack (Bane) or a Vengeance if you have one
- Skill Attack (Adept) or a Vengeance if you have one
- Morale (Righteousness) or an Endurance if you have one
- HP (Viltality) or an Endurance if you have one
- Critical (Advantage)
- Dodge (Nimbleness)
- Break (Infalability) or a Reliability if you have one
- Resiliance (Dexterousness) or a Reliability if you have one
- Then your various defence runes.
Good luck with your Bloodstorm.
Skill attack is the single most important rune to have on him
Well I have him with moral +110, health, skill attack, magic defense, and skill defense. He is greatly defended against horns of hell, thousand strikes, and ambush. I never have him positioned up front so this rune set works for me.
Attachment 556
Endurace = HP and Morale Maxed
Vengence = Phys and Skill attack Maxed
I switch out defensive runes or Block however it is needed.
Good luck
Maybe I am wrong but I thought you couldn't block a skill attack so wouldn't a break rune be almost pointless? I suppose if you don't have a +100 morale rune on him or he gets willbroken by Calvin it might help but it seems a bit of a waste otherwise.
On the other hand, a block rune in its place might be nice. Haven't tried it yet, I doubt he gets the full skill attack on counterattacking, probably only his base physical attack.
I've never seen a skill attack blocked, I run zero break on blood and that's even vs high block rating heroes in pvp and any boss. (Currently on pursuer elite).
A block rune on the other hand is awesome on blood... anything that takes his hp down but low risk of killing him is a good thing.
Does Phy attack make any difference what so ever on Blood anyway? I mean if you have him always in Skill attack mode is Phy attack on him just a waste? I have heard Phy attacks helps but I just cant see how if he is not doing any Phy attacks.
Never seen my skill attack on Blood be blocked.
Seen it be dodged plenty of times.
Never noticed any real difference in adding bane and felt the rune slot could be better used for another rune.
He is a dodge master and a time bomb, so my favorites on him are:
1. Adept or vengence
2. Rightiousness lvl 6 or endurance
3. vitality or endurance
4. advantage
5. nimbleness
6. dexteriousness
7. preciseness
8. resistance
extra: any defence rune depending on the situation (only available if you have endurance)
Some have told me that the choice between nimbleness and resistance may cause him to be squishy.
However I like the combo on him.
In order of importance:
1. Morale is crucial to Bloodstorm's success. 100 morale is a must.
2. Skill attack is crucial. It boosts his skill damage, obviously.
3. Health is crucial for Bloodstorm as he gains improved damage from taking damage. The harder he is to kill, the better off he is.
4. Dodge is crucial for Bloodstorm. With 40 innate Dodge, giving him more makes him more likely to survive to land another hit.
5. Hit rating is important. If he doesn't hit the enemy, what's the point of all that damage?
6. Physical attack is important. It boosts his skill damage and non-skill damage as well.
7. Critical rating is important. Burst damage from Bloodstorm is incredible.
8. Resilience is important to Bloodstorm. Preventing burst damage means Bloodstorm lives longer and deals more damage.
9. Block is helpful to Bloodstorm, if only to prevent the enemy from landing a strong hit on him.
10. Skill and magic defense are both helpful to Bloodstorm, especially if he's not on the front line. Reducing damage from AoE sources is key to survival to continue dishing out pain.
Ideal rune setup for Bloodstorm (all level 10 of course):
Endurance
Vengence
Reliability
Nimbleness
Preciseness
Advantage
Resistance
Flintiness
Messiness
Burliness could be subbed in for Messiness if you desire, but I like Magic Defense since it also (from my experience) improves your chance to dodge magical attacks.
8 slots cant fit 9 runes...
I have all lvl 10 in the following cept for a lvl 9 flintness.(Lvl 10 now) But the Phy attack verse the skill attack on Blood was coming up in guild chat and I didn't have a good answer lol, now I think I do.. thank you.
Endurance
Vengeance
Reliability
Nimbleness
Preciseness
Advantage
Resistance
Flintness
On a side note, does anyone remove Resistance from their non-Bloodstorm heroes after they have full lightbringer sets?
what about Flintiness is that useful on Blood ?
Because blocking an attack after you achieve full set of Lightbringers will cost you a skill attack the next round..
Ravior , I still use block on my main archer with LB spirit and he doesn't lose an attack , same with Cianna and Adam they still do Skill attack then Phy then skill again without skipping a beat as far as I can tell atleast, not sure about other non Blood heros.
It depends on the enemy. Sometimes the enemy does so much damage that one hit kills your hero, in which case you need resistance.
Also, in heroic realm, it depends on how many enemies get to hit your hero before the second round.
In general, keep the resistance, except in some cases where not enough enemies hits your hero to skill on the second round.
Herby, I sound like a noob but can you tell me appox how much does block lower the damage taken? I was under the impression it didn't lower it much and that counterstrike was the only real benefit . I will admit there are still a few things I am not clear on in this game lol.
I mean when your Hero does block an attack, it does not generate morale for himself.
So, lets say your Hero does his skill attack this round, if the enemy hits him next turn, he will get to do another skill attack the following round.
However, if you block it, you do not generate morale, therefore you lose your skill attack next round.
Herby, I'm contemplating it as having Adamanti's 1k Strikes going off every turn for 2-3 rounds of combat early on in Heroics will help your other heroes kill off various minions earlier. And yes I agree, the later bosses 1 shot my squishier guys haha!
If your Adam has lots of HP, and the enemies hit for squat damage, then having no resistance will help.
But for serious enemies, or if Adam is hit more than once on the first few turns, having resistance will still help keep him alive for the next turn's skill shot.
