the double star fridays is only for stars bought with gems. The should word it properly but alas the english language is lost on them
You don't get double stars in any case, you get double MEDALS.
And, just to be through, you don't get double medals from any chests/flips including special deal chests.
You do get double medals from Fair and purchasing them in Lab runs.
