Main Characters and Alts-

As enjoyable as this game may be, There are those that take this to an extreme of sorts.
This extreme is the notion of creating another character in the same server under some alias.

It's hilarious to me when some of these players make these alts more than obvious.
My understanding is, that to have more than one character in the same server, is against Terms-of-service.
In addition, personally it's hard enough to focus on just one character, let alone (like others having 3 even up to 7)
having to switch back and forth between the rest of them.

Of course, there are those that will jump to the conclusion that they do not have alts.

Has the obsession to wanting to win all the time, at any cost , and with any resource make players create multiple alts?

It's already been suggested to me, that i should report would be violators, it wouldn't surprise me if the devs didn't care about this at all.
Certainly this isn't the first MMO where the devs just take things by the wayside, and certainly not the last.

What you say is true Gemini but until any game developers come up with a 110% foolproof way to stop alts from being created, alts will remain part of any MMO.

I've said this numerous times but for everyone's benefit here it is again.

• The devs have introduced and factored in certain benefits which undermine the use of alts
• Farming alts is hard work. You only get 5% of res every hit and you have to keep building it to keep it within 3 levels of your main
• Now we get 4 sails a day and up to 3 free maps. Reducing the need for alts to steal maps off
• You can no longer use the 'revenge glitch' for continuous farming.

The best you can do is to report players you suspect of cheating. Policing alts is very difficult for various reasons, which is why on this and other similar games players seem to get away with it. If you want to see how alts damage a game then just take a look at Evony. Here thanks to some careful planning they are not such a massive problem.
