little advice: don't say you where "bumping" just say you updated it

I like this. I am on servers 30 and 100. Both have unbeatable guilds. So. GW on both foe me is, click on fight, garrison A. Round 1, we get wiped out, end of GW. Yes, I get rewards but it is boring and ultimately disheartening that one guild gets all the buffs and gets stronger. Add to that losing every day so quickly is the best way to drive players away. The uber guild on 30 has driven me off that server already. We lose GW first round, I never get to complete a sail, rag is an exercise in futility. The uber guild has all the top players so they are thee only ones who get benefits, there needs to be something to encourage the smaller players, the smaller guilds or each server will eventually end up with one super guild.
There are several reasons not to join the top guild.
You may dislike many players there and feel you would not enjoy the social aspect of being in that guild.
the guild may not like you
the guild may not have room for you and any people who want to come with you.
you may be a non coiner and have already used your one free realm change and the top guild is in another realm
so just joining the top guild is not always an option for everyone.
Joining into the top is also no fun... no sense of accomplishment being in a strong guild if that is how you got there.
some things i like here and some things i dont and its more of a NEW event then a change
because u go from pvp to pve which imo ruines the concept
i love to see this ADDED as a new event.. maybe change the rewards to something else then city's.
this looks like fun but how will this work for a guild that only has 3-4 players left? and is lvl 4-5.. cant beat boss coz its to strong?
ok this is a valid point. - but lets examine why my idea even works for them.
And maybe some of this got left out of the original post so if it is sorry.
You have a guild that is level 5 and only has 4 members.
with my idea they now get all the buffs up to level 5. SO now they can get stronger.
They dont have to fight the toughest city every day. They can simply fight the easiest city - the level 1 - which 4-5 players who have been playing for a while and who now have the advantage of the city buffs should be able to take it down because a level 1 city would be set up for 10 or so players who just started the game to be a challenge but able to beat with a little work after a week or so of building up.
And now since city buffs are given out by guild level not by city this encourages players to be in different guilds and not feel tied down to the guild that has the city buffs. This encourages movement and can actually change the make up of realms and servers over time.
Now yes this changes an event that was designed to be PvP to PvE. Because the original concept is only working on a very few select servers. But this idea does not stop a new PvP guild versus guild event to be added, like the king of the hill idea I posted somewhere.
I am not saying that there should be no guild vs guild PvP. I am just saying that the way it is now does not work well, theres going to be too many people complaining about city buffs if you just tweak GWF. SO lets take all the arguments for not changing GWF off the table - THE BUFFS. Make the current GWF that we are all used to seeing different and then leave the door open for a new PvP guild versus guild event.
I think most agree that "super" guilds are the quickest way to kill a server. I personally really like some of the ideas in this thread for new events, and I think new events is much needed.
How about a quick short term fix being some sort of cumulative reward based on guild level, and then a cap put on the number of cities (3?) that a guild can own. This would also add an element of leadership to a guild to decide what is most needed for its members.
I play in a server that has one clearly donminant player who has a deal with the next strongest guild (potentially actually the strongest) that they be gifted one level 1 city and one level 2 city, and there will never be an actual battle between the guilds. Instead they battle against anyone else who challenges them. This approach has already killed off the #4 guild, and is now killing off the #3 guild.
Not sure why players are so keen to actively turn this into a farming game, but its an approach that drives a lot of players away from this game.
