Capture the flag/ replace gwf
So I have been thinking about this alot.
GWF is a fail - Both the 1-10 version and the 11+ version.
It is glitched It really is BORING for many servers
SO lets get rid of it.
Attach the bonuses you obtain form the cities to your guild level. SO a level 3 guild gets 100 rep bonus level 4 guilds get 150% coin/credit bonus etc
Then in place of gwf we have Capture the Flag.
Similar idea to GWF at NPC status
There would be 8 levels of cities
Each level offers higher rewards and higher difficulty of challenges
As you guild level increases you are able to challenge higher level cities - just like there is now except there are level 1 and 2 cities to challenge
You have to pay guild contributions for your guild to participate. A level 1 city would cost 100 each level higher costs an additional 100 so a level 8 city would cost 800.
NOw the important concept is its not 1 city per level. Say there's 6 level 4 guilds on a server and they all want to go after a level 4 city - they all pay 400 contributions and each have their own level 4 city to go after. This is not a guild versus guild event its a event for a guild to work together to complete a task and win rewards.
Heres the specifics of how it works
We use the GWF screen
You have A through G
Players and NPCs have durability like we do now
G would hold a BOSS - type npc
These bosses would have a set form - like the lab - but there are multiple bosses each with their own unique form - abilities etc so that you cant just use any old form to beat this NPC - When you start Capture the Flag you see which boss IS AT G and before you march to G you can set form and runes. Damage done to the boss is cumulative- so it would take a whole guild to kill it.
The other npcs are just like the minion squads we fight in quests. nothing to special - but with enough of them at a high enough power to make it somewhat of a challenge to make capturing each point a challenge but not an insurmountable hill.
Guild starts at A
There are NPCs at B through G
As NPC s are defeated they go to G to heal for 3 rounds
As players are defeated they go to A to heal for 3 rounds
Each area does not give you a boost like it does now
D does heal both NPCs and players
If players do not attempt to capture a new area after 2 rounds 50% of the npcs at each of their locations advance on the next round
30 rounds max
Guild must control ALL areas - So if the guild is waiting at F for others to catch up for 2 rounds and march on the 3rd and capture G they must also defend F from the 50% of the NPCs who are advancing now on F due to the players not advancing to a new area for 2 rounds. And if the lose F while Capturing G They must recapture F
If G is captured by players yet NPCs are at F - Surviving Players are a G - Players killed are Back at A. NPCs defeated at G will not regenerate. Npcs at F wiil March on G the next round
If Players successfully defend G - GAME OVER players get rewards
If Players do not successfully defend G They are sent back to A to heal for 3 rounds. G regenerates all NPCs in the same 3 rounds after regeneration the NPCS will begin to march back towards B leaving behind the original NPCS at each location in an attempt to reset the board.
Only players online could participate.If a player NEVER leaves A they get no rewards
There would be participation rewards for anyone who is in the gwf, and then if you are successful everyone gets a completion rewards as well - sort of like pirates - 50% for trying the other 50% if you succeed.
Now this system opens up all types of ideas
1. no longer is gwf rewards guaranteed.
2, if the hosts knows certain players arent available that day for gwf, then they can chose an easier city
3. more players will have bonuses
4. this concept could possibly actually provide a challenge
5 rewards increase per level - so a level 4 city gives more rewards then a level 3 etc
6, power of the boss and minion npcs increase per level of city
7. Guilds can bid additional contributions for a multiplier on rewards
8. If the guild bids higher to get a multiplier on rewards the npcs also power up as wel
I think an idea like this has a lot of merit either as its own event or to replace to the current GWF
