Because that is truly the measure of a fair match, right? I am 58 and a non-coiner with about 700K power. Some of the coiners around here are lvl 51 with 1.5mil power. Why on earth would you make level the determining factor to decide whether a match would be even remotely fair or not? If you wanted to impose restrictions and make pvp more even, more of a match and more pleasurable to both coiners and non-coiners, you would impose those restrictions based on power. Give a 150K power range. anyone 150k higher or lower than you is fair game. By implementing a change like that, you sort of segregate (a little bit) the coiners and the non, allowing the coiners to battle among themselves while those that chose not to throw money at it, get their battles decided by rune choices and formation/hero choices, not by how much money they did or did not spend.
as it is, you basically grant coiners god mode over anyone that doesn't or can't spend $100+ on gems. Impose a power based range and you actually change pvp for the better. The level based range is just changing it for the sake of changing it, with no thought behind it at all. Knee-jerk response to a complaint without thinking it through.
Not at all :P I havn't spent a dime and I make coiners look like Farmville players
To me, levels is really nothing. It should be based in POWER and Title
Yea, Power doesn't even say much, I can beat someone with over 600k more power than me. I feel like power can in a way be compared to Prestige in Evony a little, of course power is more of an indicator than prestige, but still, strategy is what wins you battles which I love :D
Thing is, PvP is arena or Attack in the wild. Then why can I be in the Aerie and all of a sudden by thrust into PvP? Aerie is not Arena or the wild. Shouldn't Aerie be a Sanctuary? I mean, one has to leave Aerie eventually to Quest.
Considering the rule was mainly created to keep the strong from hitting the new, giving favor to Reputation over level could be best.
The next question is however: what range would be appropriate so that it's least disadvantageous over the whole player-base.
And Evak, that's when someone who you once attacked takes revenge on you using the revenge function.
You could do thesame trough the Fighting people in the Wild function from the Assistant or by going through messages.
