I disagree about the disparity. Buying gems does not really get you that much bonus in the early game. My answer may change once the beginner rewards disappear. I do find the VIP flag to be very useful.

This is exactly what I meant. If you have gems, you buy the credit/coins, all you want. It snowballs from there. Once you can bully people in the wild you get more. The banish events reward you according to your damgage done... this rewards the higher powered players as well. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be some benefit to dropping real life money in the game, but the disparity is great. Now that the Noble Lady doesn't give gems, the little guys don't really have a decent way to close the gap. Yeah, we earn gems by doing quests and stuff in the game, but so do the people who already bought them. They get them faster. The most difficult thing to work out in these games that allow players to buy perks is to find enough balance to keep both the "Whales" and the average gamer interested. I was merely giving my feedback on this issue. I wan't trying to start a cry fest over it. :)
As of today. with all the new patches, its almost impossible to get more than 10 gems/day, taking them off everywhere really has created an unbalanced game. I believe lots of players will actually leave. I've purchased very little so far and with all this , I don't feel like going any further with my plastic cards. Again, like Evony. it seems like some peoples are blinded by their greediness!
