I see your point here, but I would like to counter it. Essentially the only "work" people do in the lab is sit there for enough hours that they are either given a plan or they acquire enough tokens to buy one. For the average non-vip like 5-10 tokens a day. so a guardian plan would take roughly 6 days at-least, but the only real work put in was sitting at the computer for maybe 5 or 6 hours to do the labs and getting the free tokens. the same would go for CW. To amass the tickets necessary players would have to spend about 8-10 hours betting in a CW possibly for multiple weeks to amass tickets for the higher spirits, and if they wanted them faster (more tickets in less time) they could spend gems on bets, just like spending gems to buy extra lab runs for more tokens. Overall the same amount of "work" is put into acquiring the spirits. Saying that playing the lab is "working for them" but that carefully betting in CW and putting in the time every night to get all your bets in is not is an inherent contradiction. They both require the same amount of effort, some might argue CW is more of an effort because it takes more time, some might argue lab is more of an effort because there is a bit more account building involved, either way tokens and tickets are both free rewards given with minimal effort.
Edit: to put it in a bit more perspective, I can average, if i'm paying attention all 5 days, about 20-30k tickets per CW. That would require a minimum of a month per Justice Spirit, 7 months for all of them. Combining this with the lab might make it a bit faster, but overall it's not going to make people progress as fast as say...buying the tokens for a LB in 5 minutes. It takes some serious time investment to achieve the amount of tickets necessary for the spirits, not to mention lost coin/credit income if you save the tickets, which means slower progression in runes etc.
I'll counter your counter with this:
Have you ever seen someone have 10 to 15 browsers open to bet on CW?
20,000 tickets each season x15 = a whole lot of spirit plan (accumulating every two weeks). And all they did was sit on their arse for 1 hour and click a bigger number.
The solution to the "plans are too rare" problem is to modify the plans drop rate (700 boss and 800 boss), and/or token #s earned, or token drop rates.
Since Tynon's latest plans-drop modification, I find plans drops to come on (my) average about 1/20 for 700 bosses, and 1/7 for 800 bosses. Perhaps I've been luckier than others, I don't know, but if my rate is the real rate then I think it's a pretty good rate.
i do not like this idea at all. im with mattp on this one. its already way to easy with people buying packages and gain tokens that way. we DO NOT need yet another easy way to get plans. i've worked my butt off for all the spirits i have and i think it's worth it. if everything comes "free" and easy, the game really isnt worth playing then. it's been made noob friendly enough.
I'm actually failing to see your point in raising the multiple browser thing...it's not like they can bet more than once per account. If an individual is on 15 servers, good for them, it's a lot of work to make all those bets, keep up with GWs, and run all the accounts. If they're alts, it's not like you can transfer spirits between accounts, so not an issue.
How is clicking tiles in a lab for 20 minutes and strategizing over whether to risk the destiny or not, or to go left or right, more work than clicking place bet for 2 hours strategizing and anticipating when the underdog might win, when they might lose, etc. I fail to see how one is more "work" than the other. Both involve sitting on our asses and clicking for a few minutes with some minor strategy. I fail to see how this would nerf the game in any way. This would not imbalance spirits at all really, what really did that was the buying of tokens in packs. This, is nothing like that. It is another way to gain spirits thats about the exact same amount of effort as the lab, with more time needing to be invested and only a chance of a drop if you place high enough.
ok if this game is too hard for you then just play a different one and stop asking for changes that make this game more like farmville.
I would be okish with this suggestion if the prices for HB was 100K, 150k for champ, 200k for gaurdian, 250k for iron, 300k for light, 400k for justice, 500k for judgement, and 1 million for sirius
Still I agree with matt that this is nerfing the game not improving it
I never said the game was hard...in fact as far as MMOs go it's one of the simplest and easiest to play that i've encountered. I'm not asking for them to make the game easier, and could you please explain to me how the lab is "harder" than betting in CW. Tedious, boring, mind-numbingly dull do not equal harder or more work, just less interest. I would rather put my time and effort into something I find a bit more enjoyable, watching and betting in CW.
I would like to here an argument for lab being harder, or more work, compared to CW when you break it down to the basic mechanics.
Here's an idea:
50k tickets for a Hopebringer's spirit plan.
75k tickets for a champions spirit plan
100k tickets for a guardians spirit plan
150k tickets for an ironhearts spirit plan
200k tickets for a lightbringers spirit plan
250k tickets for a justice spirit plan
400k tickets for a judgement spirit plan
750k tickets for a sirius spirit plan
Thought this would be funny to post, don't actually want it to happen.
I think the ticket prices are comparable to the current token prices. as of now it takes about 2-3 days per HB, same for 10k tickets, and just keep doubling from there. my numbers it would take a minimum of 6 weeks per sirius, that's equivalent to Lab prices, if not even a little longer.
