Ate they running smoothly or jerky? It could be a lag issue.
Running Sonia to fair on foot was:25.5 sec white horse:23.5 sec Tiger:21 sec So a very small diffeence
I will get my Dragon either late today or tomorrow (1.9 mil coins to go). I also have a white horse, a leopard, a bear (the white horse appeared in my inventory with the patch. The leopard I got from VIP, and I bought the bear before I decided to get the dragon) so I can try with all 4 of them.
Hi Andy I'm more interested in finding out how much you have to feed each mount for the next star up, that would be a little more useful.
Right now it takes 80 feeds to go from 4 stars to 5 on my Leopard
the new package is coming exec. wait a week.. then gem it up :)
dawn said they are going to re examine the mounts. Cuz they are ridiculous. NOt even riot will spend that much money to get a dragon to 15 stars. which btw is $438k dollars worth of gems if you use 0 feeds
I did 5 runs from the back of the church to the garden guard (the one that the Lady pops up next to), Threw away the best and worst times and averaged the other three. This is what I got
On foot 47.57
White horse (+20) 45.03 (2.54 better)
Leopard (+60) 40.42 (4.61 better)
Bear (+100) 36.20 (4.22 better)
T-Rex (+140) (aka Dragon) 34.38 (1.88 better)
From the numbers it's easy to assume that if you rode a Rhino or T-Rex masquerading as a Dragon you'll go a lot faster than, say a Leopard or even a Tiger. However, I think the actual difference is a lot smaller but you have made a genuine query.
Thanks for the test Andy.
You don't know anything any more than the rest of us so please stop posting comments like that.
Easter is on the 20th April so it's safe to assume there will be an Easter promotion in the offering a couple of weeks from now but until Tynon announce it it's inappropriate to say that it's guaranteed.
I wish I was <sigh>
Seriously though unless you got 'Tynon Team' under your name (this doesn't include us Forum Mods, we're serfs like you) then posting seemingly cast-iron comments sets off a whole barrage of rumours however well intended.
On this forum regarding things like upcoming patches, confirmation of game mechanics, server merges and promotions are only official if it's announced mainly by Dawnseeker or another one of the reps who have Tynon Team under their name. Anyone else including us mods is nothing more than supposition.
But yeah, I'll be very surprised if there isn't a Tynon Easter promo :p.
Of course there will be an Easter Promotion, but I get what you are saying that until its officially announced then its not set in stone.
However, we all know it will happen, UCool have promotions for the little events, so there is no doubt they will be doing one for the big ones.
I run the same speed as I did before, I think its all just a ploy to get people to spend money taming their mounts.
Here are some things that may be relevant to my test.
- Since the animation is done by the client, the speed of the computer, the amount and peed of memory, the video card(s), the hard drive speed (if memory swapping is being done) and what other programs are running in the background can affect the results. My PC had 8 high speed processors, 32 G memory and two high end video cards, so there are no delays caused by the hardware
- Since information about what other players in Aerie City and where they are must be obtained from the server, internet access speed and server lag can affect the results. I use a ethernet connection to the router and a DSL connection to the internet so there should not be any lag issues caused by my connection.
- I noticed that the runs were not smooth. It looked that there were some slow downs and sprints. It looked to me that the slow downs were followed by the sprints. Since the results of each of the 5 runs did not vary significantly I assume that what is happening is that the client is doing the sprints to compensate in small delays caused by accessing the server. This would keep the average speed constant. There was one run that stood out because is was over 3 seconds slower that the other ones for that set. In this one there was noticeable hesitation at one time that I attribute to lag.
Another thing that I have noticed, not associated with this run. is that whenever there are bad lag problems the client clock looses time. This leads me to believe that there is a problem with the client that does not compensate for lag delays in the clock. The client should be changed to synchronize the clock to the server periodically.
I've mentioned this in other threads but it bears (pun intended) repeating: we're looking into the upgrade cost structure on mounts.
Ok since your looking at that and we can usually check each others equipment and runes and saints out how's about for every star you give your mount the mount changes color, shape or size?
Personally I'd like a pygmy pony to start out with instead of a white horse (joke)...............
you missed the point again!?
