The top 10 winners in CW only won the third sub spot opening up and nothing else?

That would throw a wrench in the I don't want to win a top spot debacle...................

Simply because there is going to be too much of a hassle over who gets into the next top 10 spot.
Why 10? Yes, I agree, it's even an easy to work with but perhaps 16 (All the Eighth finalists?)

Maybe just #1. 2nd gets nothing, losers of semis have reduced rewards.

What if they skimmed off the top 16 and made an "Ultimate CW". They can play against themselves. Every time someone wins a crown, they can move to Ultimate CW. :)

The fights for the ultimate CW wouldn't be able to run the same time as the normal cw unless the 16 finalists of the normal cw are 16 of the people who werer part of a group of 32 people. However, this method is just going to complicate things badly! :(

what if someone who won a CW and got the 3rd sub unlocked and entered the top 16 will loose that 3rd sub if he doesnt win the tournament (=dont sign up or enter finals if you dont want to win)? lol

No, but they would not be in reg CW, they'd be in their own. Take off the crowns, give them diff prizes, i don't care. They can skip prelims, nothing to do there anyway. They could just run knockouts and finals.
We know they wouldn't actually do this, but would be perfect. lol

Its funny you posted this almost 1 year ago when I complained about the format. I guess you were too simple minded to see what the changes would cause. From the posts I have read of yours you still seem to be pretty simple minded.
