Stars taken awat when upgrade fails

I thought something was off the other day when i went to upgrade a hero and it failed. I thiought this hero had 3 stars not 2. Well I know for a fact now if upgrade fails it is taking stars away. On my athebna server acct i had 2 stars and i had already upgrades it to 3 before but it said 2. so with stars awarded for beginners reward i went to update it . had 8 stars one took the other 2 didn't and I still have 2 stars. So just for this one hero alone it should br a 5 is a 2. Please correct this and fix the problemn. it use to raise percentage when failed now it takes away current stars and leaves level same.

If a star upgrade fails on a hero, you will lose a star. I know how you feel, it's happened to me countless times and then it cost me gems to buy medals tp upgrade them to the original start level.

Once you get to a certain star level, it locks in so you can't fall below that. I think it varies by hero quality how many stars you need to do that.

its a total rip off. this game is starting to seem like a total rip off.

The hero quality doesn't matter, there are certain "safe" levels. -- (Reference) Buff: Stars on the Wikia.
