Error 502 Bad Gateway on forums

I get a "502 Bad Gateway" error quite often on these forums, when I try to open a thread.

Any idea what is causing this?

It's a connection problem somewhere. And yes I'm getting it too.

Sorry to say I cant tell you more than that as I am a humble mod .

Well it's good to know it's not just me.
I never saw such error when browsing forums before.

I've had problems logging back in for hours. Ended up changing my password 3, maybe 4 times to get back on the forums.

I even had this happen when replying on this topic lol...

But, next question: why do I have this problem in FF, while Chrome doesn't have this problem at all??

There are a few things that will cause the 502 Bad Gateway error
.
1. There are issues with your service provider's traffic; could be experiencing high traffic or an overabundance of bandwidth hogs or even maintenance.
2. There is an issue with the server we are located on, failing hardware or lack of capacity.
3. There is an issue in communication between websites; server and the gateway/proxy do not agree on the protocol for exchanging data.

In most cases a 502 Bad Gateway error will clear up on its own within a few hours but that's usually only if the culprit is #1 :S
