Bubba87 - No - it's NOT like a scratch card. If you buy a scratch card and lose/don't win, the scratch-card people don't come round and take another £10 out your pocket for failing or relieve you of a previous winning scratch-card!!

I failed at 80% then failed at 70% which is very frustrating, but I would rather fail than get another magic attack on a physical hero. On evony I would fail stars with a 100% success rate listed so this doesn't surpise me at all. I'm just under 1 million power and top ranked in arena for my realm yet my main hero has 1 star, i think i've gone through about 25 medals and never been passed level 3.
"Boomshakalaka!"
And how exactly is Tynon doing this? Are they FORCING you to buy gems to get the star back? I might be wrong but I have never been FORCED into buying more medals to get my star(s) back when I failed to upgrade...Also, it CLEARLY states that if you fail, you will lose a star. Where was the confusion?
Why are you paying SO much for medals anyway? I asked this question before and didn't get an answer, so I doubt I'll get one this time. My average purchase price for medals is between 2-2.5 gems per medal, IF even that much. Do people not understand that when you are buying gems, you aren't GUARANTEED anything other then of getting the gems...if you squander them/your luck sucks/you don't know the best way to use them, how again is this Tynon's fault?
Look kiddos.. The devs understand most kiddos playing the game may not understand their odds in using stars. 72 percent chance basically means out of 4 attempts u should only miss 1 star attempt. there is way more complex math to it.
As for as many stars that i have spent on heros, i have come to the determination that the star upgrading is rigged. 72% is more like 20 percent in the times i have tried up grading. DEVS, i know u guys want money and gems spent fast but lets be fair. if u want more gems spent dont make us lose a star when using stars. If there was actually a true rolling in stars chances id understand but there is false odds on the success rate. you know this as well as i do.. Fix it please.. start treating us like real people not just a digital currency please......
i agree. there no need to deduct a star when you fail, the % is hard enough when you get to 48% anyway. they really need to change this as I myself just don't bother with it anymore as it cost me way too many gems that im paying for.

The star deduction system is there to keep a balanced game. If stars weren't lost when failing, the big VIP's would have full star sets within a week.
Keep that in mind.

The problem is when u get into a cycle of failing over and over... For example if you spend 10 stars to move backwards everyone else around you leaves you in the dust. And all ya did was try to do a simple upgrade... For example I could have improved this specific Alexa for free by hitting the training button and spending 20 seconds waiting... But instead I spent 10 stars and got worse... Thats a pretty rough blow. Its multiple missions to the Lab(which is expensive) and etc to get those resources. Personally I think there should be some kinda "save" so ya cant get caught in that loop... What that would be who knows...
To be fair, the big VIPs are unbeatable regardless. This hurts non-VIPs more so because their source of gems is far, far less; especially after day 7.
I got a leader card and it failed at 90%, but it didn't remove my previous card, so while I was extremely disappointed, I understood the math that 10% happens 1 out of 10 times. However, when after 4 stars your odds of losing a star become GREATER than gaining one, I don't understand how they think it's plausible for a person to fully level up their character WITHOUT buying thousands upon thousands of gems.
It is supposed to be easy to fully level up a character. Also heroes with high star and decent gear/runes can be a pain to beat.
You don't lose a star even if you fail for certain levels.
Read the tooltip (question mark in a circle in the Star tab) before starring.
