In answer to your question, its a display glitch and whenever you have gem stakes you should refresh to check they are legitimate!
If they are legitimate then ALWAYS take a screenshot and wait until they are claimable (don't forget the screenshot for server time as well!)

I wanted to make sure I wasnt new in my claim, but couldnt find any quick fix in 30 min, so i added to this one. For a lot of players, they may not know how to do a screen shot.....and to take one after you just seen them go *poof, is too late lol...but thx for your take on it.
