Thread: Caribbean Pirates is broken.

  1. #11
That would make the event obsolete if they put level restrictions on it, it would be caribbean cruise instead of pirates. There's a slight chance of making it across even as a player with over 2m power... that being said, I would love to see a limit on how many maps you can steal from other players as well as the limit of how many voyages you may take. Rather that than see a large player dropping guild/heroes and giving it to their guild then getting an invite to rejoin and sail again.

Thanks, Evil, for an alternate idea. A limit might work... 3, period, no matter what. And you should only be able to steal 2 maps per day. The third one should have to come from your guild rewards.

I am of the mind that the real reason hi-level players prey upon those beneath them is a function of greed. If we collect our guild benefit, it reduces how much credit we have to learn Technologies.

By stealing lower players maps instead of bringing their own, they preserve their own guild credit while hurting lower players. If this was business, it would be call antitrust. Smothering the competition by unethical means, simply because the "market" allows it.

Curently Caribbean pirates is only good way to hunt low lvl players, to get atleast some coins / credits, cus high lvl players after 50 lvl have no income from players of same lvl.

This is PvP game after all, dont forget that. If you consider something as broken - it dosnt mean its really broken, sometimes its just our imagination. There is enaught other events types to use, as well as more coming in next patches, so dont panic.
    ^This, exactly this

In our guild we have successfully ferried players with less than 1m power by pairing them up with our strongest players.

I'm not the smallest of players and even with the biggest player I've been sunk. It can just a matter of luck who's out on the prowl for a map. It's a bit daft saying its broke when Caribbean pirates is anything but.

Morgan - the Pirates minigame opens at L30, or something, right? You say "under 1 million power", like 1million is easy to reach or something.

My character on 29 has 179k. I am trying to utilize runes to best effect, smithing, and talenting my butt off. I am the third strongest in my guild. The other two have 250k and 190k. We get slaughtered. Every time. BECAUSE people like you think it's not broken.

You talk about 1 Million Power like it's nothing. Something you burped out long ago. If it were possible, I'd let you try the Pirates game with my character... for a week. So you can see how busted it is.

One million power is a lot bigger than 100k-200k, and it represents a god-awful imbalance. I'm reading the wikis, checking the tips from winners, doing my best to follow in their footsteps, but I get squashed all of the time. It's not broken to YOU, because you have a buttload more power than 99% of the players on this game. It is self-centered blindness to not be able to see how that effects lower power players who just want to try the minigame out, only to find out that Tynon has to be a full-time job for them to be competitive.

Carribean pirates is there for RICHES. Spend $2500, win pirates, spend $0, and never get to sail. That's what it comes down to. The BIG BOYS SPENDERS are the winners. SPEND = WIN.

Seriously this is what guilds are for. I try and take the smaller members across and split up our big hitters. Just common sense.

1 million power is easy to reach, I think and politely suggest that you need to spend more time in the rune temple. I myself, sink a good 5-10m a day in there. Just for the record in my guild there's a guy who hasn't spent a dime and is current level 60+ and riding on around 2 million power. It might interest you to note I'm current at just over 2m and I've beaten players with up to 3m. Power is all relative.

It's common sense to use some strategy. It's wasn't too long ago, attackers attempting to sink ships healed after each player. Hell, it made the crossing almost impossible at times. Thankfully, however Tynon listened and nerfed that ability so now you don't heal.

Will it be changed anytime soon? I doubt it so please take on board the advice given here and maybe your luck will improve.

You've expressed your views well and without abuse Morgan. Thank you.

I would hope the game developers are actually taking into consideration the issues we've brought.
If we're to be ignored, the game's following will be severely limited. The very fact they altered the "all heal" to make it theoretically possible was a good step.
Though I have a feeling there's another action which will make it even less likely for multiple crossings: People just aren't trying anymore.

You (and others) may argue that point, but unless we have actual data from the logs, which we will never see, it's all just anecdotal. So to be clear, I BELIEVE there are fewer crossings than when the game was newer and people thought they had a chance. Now the big hitters just sit in the boats all day, hoping somebody will click on them by accident.

Pirates is not broken its just how it was designed and morgan is right 1 mill power is easely get we also in our alliance use the stronger players to let smaller players cross, the majority on our server is around 1.5mill power currently but its not the stronger guilds fault if you guys decided to make an small alliance it does not make a mini game broken because there happend to be stronger players out there, now the seas would be broken if you couldnt attack, or when someone jumped on to sail you wouldnt leave the shore but this is just how the game was made we just accepted the fact we need stronger players to cross over its nothing new anymore and again morgan is right we used to be able to not even cross because of the mid-heal in battle they already changed that and we should be gratefull for that, what you should do is spend more time lvling up runes, gear and get stronger and then try again. I hope you guys can get accros eventually some try also when the realm bosses begin a good way to get accros then I hope you the best of luck

I haven't spent one red cent on this game and I'm over lvl 60, with 1.8mil power. I defeat people who have over 3mil power. The Pirates game is not broken and you seem to have your priorities off too. Instead of trying to get across, failing, and complaining the game is broken - maybe you should continue with your quests, redo your runes, and test out formations in the arena until you find something that gets you to where you want to be.

Just because the game doesn't go your way, doesn't make it broken. We've all been lower level and we've all had our struggles. And just like prior posts here stated, Pirates was extremely hard when the attacker healed between battles. Just be glad you got this version and not the other one.

Wishing you and your guild the best of luck and I hope you figure out what you need to do.
