Once you get to the "moon" set you cannot fall back down to the actual star set.
9-10 You lose 0 stars if you fail
10-11 You lose 1 star if you fail

How many medals / gems did it cost you to get 10 stars?

Hmm.. if I had to guess probably around 60 blue medals and 9 purple medals. So that's roughly 750 gems. Which is, I don't want to say easy, but achievable if your getting lucky in arena stakes and leveling up, lab etc. You just have to know how to work it
