I think the fair should allow you to use coins/creds accordingly to purchase gems. Just increments of 1-10, you know nothing too high so that normal players can get them. Would be helpful in regards to decent investments, blacksmith and talents. Just a thought.

Not really since you can have it show up as often or slightly less than a gold card in fair. You cannot expect everybody to put cash into this game so they can compete with the big spenders. For those of us who do spend, we're still going to. How do I know this? Two of the main MMO i've played gave players a way to attain what you could by spending money. There's way too much stuff on this game that require gems and actually sitting around waiting to increase puts you far behind the power curb.
Even at gold card rarity it is still OP.
Well unless it was like 2 million coins for 1 or 2 gems.
Who would be dumb enough to spend 2m coins for 1 gem when it's 10 gems to get 1.2-1.9m? What you're failing to see is the possibility of helping those who can't spend money get a better competing edge. For those who can spend, a very small handout of gems wont contribute much. I know this because 1k gems doesn't do much in the way of upgrading my char. A much higher volume of gems will be needed and thus purchasing will continue. You're probably looking at around 2-10 gems being available for purchase every 2-5 days which isn't going to do much on exploiting.
