Somehow I don't envision these particular devs has having much of a sense of humor.

OMG! They are targeting me! They have it out for me! That explains all the star fails, bad runes and useless buffs when sainting!
Lol! But agree with ya'. Doubt these devs even have ANY sense of humor. Or a very twisted one if they do. Might explain all the glitches. They sit around and watch the tickets come in and have a betting pool based on number of complaints per glitch. Winner gets to wrote the next good glitch code.![]()

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
You also need to consider that for mages in particular BLOCK and DODGE have two different target results on their attackers.
For a physical attacker BLOCK will raise its morale even if blocked; dodge will not. Mages are a safe way to attack without adding energy to the morale levels and triggering specials.
Can Magic be blocked or dodged? (rhetorical question)
BLOCK is never/rarely 100% and can cause an out-of-turn "free" counter attack auto-response from the target that can be lethal to a thin skinned low HP mage that is so foolish to engage a very high powered enemy attacker that she can't take-out in one attack. DODGE is a 100% miss when it is invoked and does NOT cause an auto-response. But I wonder if the software guys have set themselves up for an infinately nested recursion on auto-responses from block back to block back to block ad nasium (oh the fun that would be). FORMATION is key here as to targets. Consider your suite of hero's as different tools or golf clubs in the bag - pick the team that works best for the current lay of the land (enemy) so to speak,
ALSO, don't forget that a hit on a physical-attacker target increase its MORALE (i.e. if its not a magic user). So in a round about way of looking at things missing (low accuracy) on highly block-runed targets is a thin-skinned low-HP Mage's natural survival instinct/reflex. In-game they can make a lot of pyrotechnics to the rest of their squad to make it look in game like they are at least trying to hit the big bad attacker (and perhaps keep their team-mates morale up for their taking all the blows for the wimpy mage?) but in fact the mage is inherently a coward; these being more intelligent save their own skins from the counter-punch of block-runed targets by completely missing to "stay alive another round" till they feel really "up" for a stun attempt. Magic casters have insecurity issues and psychology and you should be sensitive to this...![]()
A more sophisticated game-engine and battle resolution formula would elevate aggression/hatred for the higher hitting attacker (i.e. mages) and revector/redirect all attacks as a priority... which would open the door for the need for healer classes (i.e. clerics) someday... just ideas
just rambling here...
As soon as someone breaks the Rosetta Stone of combat resolution and puts all the info on Wiki its all going to look the same on all servers and it will devolve into a pure game of luck and gem buying power. So tribal knowledge, tradition and experience are worth something and people would be foolish to give out all the little secrets...

As a rule Developers think of themselves as gods and only have a one-sided humor. If directed by management to fix a bug - they will fix the bug in a malicious way if they think you're making sport of them since the managers are usually clueless what the developers really do under the hood...
Just as excrement (is that a dirty word in UK?) is a plumber's bread and butter, software bugs become "features" to software guys that generate gem sales in one way or another and in quite the same way - are salary security. Bugs make the world go around. If the developers really had a sense of humor they would have a "bug day" every Halloween and have them roam the wilds to be attacked for extra bonuses for slaying them... my idea of closed-loop integrative humor that's two-way win-win.
Magic attacks can be blocked, and mages can block attacks. Both cases, though, result simply in a reduction of damage with no counter-attack.
Just saw my Shayd get blocked by Calvin.

This is not related to Runes but it is something that every one needs to know about Mages. Embedding sapphires on a Mage's Spirit does nothing. If you do you are just wasting them. See http://bbs.tynon.com/showthread.php?3565 for details.
I have personally seen Plague Lord in the Heroic Realm dodge Shayd, and Molten Cerberus in the Heroic Realm block Shayd.
