Thread: Haze members "Rage" booted.

The best solution is to use Speakers. Broadcast to the world that X person cannot be trusted. Other players will get the message. The term is ostracism.

The question is how do you deal with someone throwing their dollies out of the pram? Answer: club together and make use of the revenge button. There is always going to be players who for some reason decide to "punish" their team mates 'cos they didn't get their last Rolo. Game developers rarely intervene since the problem is usually caused a tiny minority and doesn't effect the game as a whole.

These sort of disputes are commonplace because online gaming can inflame emotions, often resulting in scenarios the OP described. You really can't expect the game developers to solve this issue when much more important issues (in the grand scheme of things) need their attention. That doesn't mean it isn't a problem to you guys and everyone sympathises because most of us have been there ourselves, it's just something you as a guild will have to deal with.

I guess I just gotta say thanks for "input". I have to admit I'm a little discouraged that at the infancy of this game the players do not show more interest in making this game different from the run of the mill games. I thought that perhaps there would be an interest in trying to form a community that could govern itself where crap like this didn't happen. I guess that we've just gotten used to the idea that such behavior is acceptable.

Just trying to make myself clear one last time...

    1. This happened.
    2. BIGBADMICK is a toxic player
    3. It would be cool (not at all expected) that players didn't have to deal with consequences that they had no control over.
    4. It would be cool for the community to come together and decide how to govern ourselves.
    5. It would be great if the Game Operators listened to our wishes about rules/consequences and helped in any way they can.

I know that setting up a Community Review Board requires time and money. I just feel strongly that if there were real consequences to actions, the behavior would be discouraged. The responses so far have all been along the lines of, "It's an internet game, people are jerks, it's not up to the Game Operators to stop them." I AGREE!! It's up to the community. But thus far, the community has done nothing but encourage the behavior by accepting it. I was hoping that the community would ask for a way to hold each other accountable and that the Game Operators would support that. It wasn't about anything else. I don't know why people don't understand that. Nearly every response has not gotten the point. They all point to other games, the nature of the internet and what isn't the responsibility of Game Operators. Although I asked, on behalf of my mates, that they get some help, it was never expected.

I really wish that in this age of instant worldwide communication that people actually took the time to READ and UNDERSTAND the issues before they post responses. I was hoping to inspire a community to come together at the infancy of a game to decide how we could serve one another. The ONLY way to change things is to come together and change it. Yes, I suppose at some point we could beat on him in the wild. (Not going to happen, cause I suck and have no power) I suppose we could spam chat about how bad a person he/she is. Well, I don't really think he's a bad guy. I think he was raging and did something stupid. I just thought that perhaps we, as a community, could keep the garbage out of this game. We've all been burned in other games one way or another, I just thought if we wanted to we could avoid it here by taking action.

Lol Kicking people out of an alliance is not against "the rules". "Douchebaggery" is part of the game. If you get kicked, oh well, put your big boy pants on and handle it in game. Stop crying about contribution that can be built back into the guild. Your guild got rid of the issue when he left. You should be happy now and start moving forward again.

This is the perfect example of what I was talking about in my last post. It's obvious that you didn't read/comprehend what I was talking about. Perhaps I lack the ability to properly convey ideas in a satisfactory manner. Perhaps I need to construct a pop-up book with colorful pictures. I guess that I expected the average player to have at least a 5th grade reading ability. You also display the attitude of complacency that I've mentioned as well. It may not be against "the rules" but it is an example of "doucebaggery" that doesn't have to be part of the game. You exemplify exactly the point about people not understanding what they read before they post comments. You are right, I should stop "crying" about it. I just really can't understand that knuckle dragging mouth breathers such as yourself cannot identify a topic sentence and follow the general supporting themes throughout a paragraph. I resign myself to the fact that I have failed in my quest to ignite a desire within the community to govern ourselves.

Please go ahead and close this thread, apparently it was a waste of time.

Skrubs why don't you just stop. Haze had problems right after the server started in that for several days the host and vice host were nowhere to be found. The guild kind of just ran itself until BIGBADMICK stepped up and asked for the vice host spot so somebody would be around who was in charge. It was because of this lack of leadership that I left Haze last week. Frank even admitted that he only made the guild for fun and not as a competitive entity. And so I left. Nothing against Frank as he's a nice guy but his idea of the direction of the guild and mine were just different. I don't know what all was said when BIGBADMICK was ready to leave but I do know there were harsh words and hard feelings. As the new host of iMurder, I take exception to the accusation that he rage kicked players. When he quit Haze I looked in my invitation pane and there were no Haze players there out in the cold. They had either already joined other guilds or joined iMurder. I'd be curious to know specifically who Skrubs is talking about being rage kicked while offline rather than making sweeping, generalized accusations.

Don't get pissed at me because you got screwed over by someone and insulting and calling names didn't earn you any points either. Everyone here is telling you the same thing. There isn't anything anyone can do and you're clearly having a meltdown. You and only one other person are having such a hard time with this. We don't hear anyone else complaining as much. Especially since you guys say 7 people were kicked, not a peep from them. And why didn't all the people who were kicked go back to Haze? They probably didn't want to be there even after Mick was gone.

Here's the way I look at it.

Yeah I totally agree with you in almost everything, but, let's face it now, this is part of the game.
Things like this is what keeps the server alive and in constant movement.

Think about it, Shakespeare novels, why do you think they're still popular TODAY? And why
Do you think that we still read his books? Because it all comes down to, tragedy (seen in every movie),
comedy (what we love ) and of course for the girls, drama

All those things take part in OUR DAILY lives.
So my point , yeah so what he did it? I think many of the Game dev are really busy
with real game related stuff to even deal with this.

    Cheers

why would you think the game dev would do anything about this i mean its not against ToS to kick someone from a guild even then you can just invite them back to the guild (contributions can be rebuilt) but anyway in the FIRST place the Host should never have made him Vice host unless he knew and trusted him completely, this is where this problem started.

its part of the game AND its ONLY a GAME!!! get over it and move on you're a grown adult stop crying about it

this keeps a game live and exciting and prevent it from dieing
