Limited Edition Mounts

What exactly does this limited number of mounts mean? at first I assumed that once this exact number of mounts had been purchased it would no longer be available for anyone else to buy. But after looking at the main site and seeing that the tiger mount is the standard orange color, while the tiger mount in game (at the mount npc) appears white.

This creates two questions for me:

Does the Limited edition mean that there are only a certain amount available to the server, and once their gone their gone?

OR

Does the Limited edition give a special appearance/color to the limited number of mounts. Causing all mounts purchased after the limit to be the standard version?

They are hand raised and grass fed and each one is branded with a distinct number by a trailworn cowboy named Curly.

I dunno if its like this on all servers, but the number of mounts left on the "limited edition" mounts resets every day on server 1. think it may be limited to the amount of them that can be bought per day.
