Thread: NEW Banish Ending: Feedback

  1. #41
Saying that something is "fair" is not the same as "everyone has exactly equal chance to win regardless of effort, skill, or strategy." There is a great deal of strategy involved in preparing a team that can get the turn order and timings right to maximize damage done to the event bosses, and doing more damage should give a greater chance of being able to get the last kill on the boss, that's just simple math. Want to do away with campers trying to time the last hit? Fine, lock everyone that's into auto-fighting for the end. This one-hit-at-a-time charade is not only nonsensical and time-consuming, it hurts everyone in the realm by making the boss fights take longer and making it harder to get the stronger bosses with greater rewards.

The damage is already being done. I know multiple Vip5-7 who have quit the game and initiated chargebacks. When you sign up for a game and the game turns around and changes what you paid for then you are entitled to your money back. The worst part is the changes are hurting the game yet for some reason tynon and the mods here cannot see it. You can talk about your charts and graphs and all that garbage but the simple fact is it only takes a couple of days in a new server to see the damage been done by poor decisions.

1)change baal/cerb back. Quit rewarding the lazy
2)put 5 realms back and open fewer servers. I am telling you know they are dead. For example, 12 is dead. You have 2 guilds dominating and 2 more participating and the rest are empty shells. More competition and people=more money for tynon. I swear to you I am barely seeing Vips anymore as people are not spending. They know the match.com nubs will come in and ruin it and leave which means a tiny core of actual players.
3)boost rewards on heavens palace and ragnarok. The boosts are expensive and you do not get your money back on them. I am one of the most powerful on a couple servers and I still only make a profit on credits if I barely boost. You give better rewards at least in the top 10 on baal and cerb so why not on the others.

This would be a start and get players back. Of course I will be completely ignored and given so called facts but as a hardcore player I know what is up and tynon you are dying off no matter how much you lie to the people here.

You know what I detest more than anything else, the "all powerful" coming out here and calling new or causal players lazy. It's quite frankly insulting. As for saying my earlier comment is invalid, both experienced and new players start on new servers and even on older servers. It's shocking, how dare they .

Skill is shown by reaching the top ten and reaping the rewards therein. In doing so the "best" already show their mettle. The killing bonus is the icing on the cake.

However, what it actually comes down to is this. By losing an almost ensured chance of gaining a nice profit to be able to upgrade their runes more often and becoming even more powerful. So maybe the smaller players aren't the lazy ones after all .

If you leave the game over this, then more then its a shame, especially over something that really when it comes down to it, matters little. There will always be a chance of winning the 10m, but instead of timing it, you enter a lottery just like everyone else.

I thought a bit about what cerb and baal were like before and it wasnt unusual to see a spike of people near the end or people waiting around at the entrance until the end so they could try and get the 10 mil coins (I imagine at least a few were successful).

Also when I commented about some desired changes coming up in a future patch earlier I was referring to some things that dawnseeker had jumped the gun on announcing and then later edited those things out of the original post (in the patch notes of course) (might not have even put this part in the right thread idk).

Well, I suppose this thread touched on many aspects of the game and people's feelings as well.
I dislike the new banish ending, mainly because I may be very close with a rival, fighting for 3rd or 4th position. That 2 gem boost might be all I need to beat him/her to the punch and cross the line! That's blank now. (Though, I do suppose that keeps me from spending gems I should really save for something else.)
I don't mind if the 10m coins go to a less powerful character, and in fact like that aspect.
Thus, you have a mixed reaction from me. I'm not a paying client, but I have invested time and effort.
Overall this has been a thread worthy of the time it took to read. Thank you all for posting.

Well, besides all the "extra- comments" this thread has, I can officially say that for the first time I have read all 6 pages. My eyeballs will pop out

In the bright side, very good comments and opinions.

Personally, I do NOT like the new patch, but you know how that goes, there's no way that Tynon can satisfy everyone need's in this game. I'm pretty sure that every patch and/or change they make to the game, many will love it, others will hate it.

With rune temple, tavern, labyrinth, heroic rewards, arena stakes, and other key elements based entirely on pure luck, the best one can do in any aspect is set themselves up for the best possible chance of success. That's strategy and it's how you excel at the game. There's precious little as it is in the game that gives tangible rewards for good strategy, and the world event bosses were one exception. Setting up a team to maximize your damage per round and thus maximize the chances of the big payout had been one of the few things that helped strategically-minded players keep up with the heavy coiners.

I will agree that slowing down or waiting on the last attack to try and get last hit is an abused tactic and rightfully should have been changed, since it detracts from the spirit of the event. The new system, however, a knee-jerk reaction to swing to the far end of the spectrum and completely abandon any reward for strategy and throw everyone into a giant lottery, regardless of their effort or contribution, is completely asinine and similarly destroys the spirit of the event. You succeed at the game by maximizing your chances of success, and this change obliterates anything a player can do to that end. It's as if there were a big raffle and some people bought twenty tickets, some bought five, some bought only one -- and then just one ticket from each person was placed into the bucket for the drawing, and it was called "fair." Absolutely not.

As I have said before, a better change would be to lock in the "auto-fight' for the end of the boss, so that players cannot ruin the event by holding off for the last hit, but so that the players who are doing more damage still have a greater chance at getting the last hit. Logically, were this a real fight with a real giant monster, that's exactly how it would and should work. The smaller players still have a chance for last hit -- and frequently got it even under the old system. That is fairness.

Reading Boro's post reminded me of something that happened with pretty much every major change in evony. On the forums there would be arguments about and people would say they would stop spending and chargeback and quit thinking that it would make a difference. Funny thing is life went on. Evony continues to make money and put out new servers every so often. Hope people realize that a few players, regardless of how much they have spent, will make little difference.

The patch maybe better for some players, but for most of us it sucks, We are are locked out from the last hit and it is over before we are timed out. Both times today I had over 25 sec. and it ended without a chance to make the hit. Back to the old game boys and work this out.
