I am level 71 and mostly Guardian Gear now. I just got my 6th champion relic plan (sold the excess one for a few coin - less than apprentice sword) but STILL carrying one apprentice relic along with my other 4 champion relics.
This is beyond bad luck - this is INANE game design. Being a veteran player and still in apprentice gear is just so wrong on so many level. It's INSULTING to have to be seen in apprentice gear at a high level and playing 24-7 for over a month. Sorry, just refuse to pull the trigger and spend the 200 gems to reset Heroic Realm to get another 20% chance at a drop without having to wait yet another 24 hrs of my life to roll the die.
There really should be an auto award or a progressively increasing statistical chance for a drop after a player leap frogs the noob class of equipment. It's just totally out of role-play to then see mid-level players at level 40 or so running around with full sets of champion gear (30 levels below you). That's completely an inversion to the seniority of of the role-play genre for this to be seen in-game. Part of the prestige of advancing in rank and level is to be an example of success and accomplishment for the newer players to inspire them to work hard. But in this silly game its all apparently a matter of pure luck or pure bad-luck. If the odds are so bad at least give us an in-game little dark rain cloud that hovers over our heads and follows us around wherever we go just like the jinxed lil' Abner perpetual bad-luck comic character "Joe Btfsplk". At some point its time to fix the odds or just "do the right thing" and give people the missing pieces as part of the next rank level up awards.
It's ridiculous and just drudgery that really throws a wrench into the game flow...
