MOving forward with out money

There is a lot of talk in forums about being able to play and be strong with out money. But no one wants to reveal how that is done.

I got to and maintained rank 7-10 on realm, rank 4 guild, and only vip1. But now I am stuck. I can not complete another quest with out more power. Can't complete pirates because of higher rank guys always taking maps. Impossible to get 700 score in the "easy" labyrinth. Guild members dropping like flys. WOrst luck in tavern cards ever. Bad luck in runes. Spent billions of coins trying. Credit boost never being successful after first day.
There are clear problems in the game with the progression, game play, and the horrid odds of getting things. I'm lvl 46 and never seen a lvl 40 champion gear since I been here. Only one chest guard upgrade.
This really blows chunks.

There is no help in forums to tell people how to continue in game with out money. I see it on 1-2 guys, but they'll never tell. They like being the only ones to do it playing free.
I have no problem dropping 5 bucks on it every now and then, but with guys making it to rank 2 and 2-3 times more power then me for free, why would I spend more?
Worst game ever evony. Great job. You should go back and fix the problems in the Evony game instead of making terrible games such as this.

If you get all beginnersbonusses, you get already a nice package of gems for free. You can waste them, or use them very wise. In mine opnion, this makes already a huge difference.

For the rest you need a lot of luck. If you're lucky enough and have the skills knowing how to work with what you get in early stages, you have a good base to get a strong account without coining. Further in the game it will be harder to keep your position. But again, that depends on your luck and skills.

i am not a vip but on my server i am ranked 8 in power and in my realm i am 3rd in the arena, I could give you some tips but nobody has the exact same luck or game play style so i will do my best.

Make the most out of what you have - very important tip because i also had bad luck at the tavern but i made the most out of the people i had. I gave catherine and mehvidan both intenseness to have a good magic attack, i upgraded my talents to focus on their magic, and I took advantage of being offensively strong at the beggining of the server.

Labyrinth - I can not help too much with this, luck plays more of a role then power does, make use of the old dreams (if you get a +4 or any other +move from a destiny then try to use old dreams to get it again). if you have enough moves to get 650+ score without the boss then do not step on any more destiny moves or else you might not get it. Also, I only do it once per day (for 30 stamina) so i can spend the rest of my stamina on gathering supplies for armor. Soon i will start doing laby 2 times a day though.

Tavern - do not waste ALL of your creds on the tavern, I wasted 5m creds once and guess what happened? i found a calvin when i had 50k creds left and i had no more to recruit him. This is what i do to get heros, when i flip a card and have a 2 hour timer then i refresh it until i find a purple/gold hero and try to get them, if it doesnt work i STOP, sometimes i go until i see a second hero i want to get. I always click on the card the hero is on, sometimes to the left/right but mostly always on the card. all of the heros i currently have i had got within seeing my first or second gold card (shayd, calvin, dawnbringer, alexa)

Scrolls (for armor/weapons) - There is only a few tips i can give here, number one is world bosses. End of story this is the -BEST- way to get them, i had gathered a bunch of hope bringer scrolls (relics, helms, chests) from finishing top 3 in cerb/baal then once i got to level 40+ cerb and baal started giving me champion scrolls, every champion scroll i have is from world bosses, once i got to lvl 50 (i am currently 51) i started getting some guardian ones. on to the second tip, heroic realm, make sure you fight only the bosses that drop things you need. I only kill the last 2 bosses because i need cloaks and a couple more helmets so those two are the only ones who drop cloak i will kill them till i have 5 of them.

runes - if you are good at world bosses (or lucky) you can get the last hit for 10m coins, this helps a lot for getting runes. even without last hit there are ways to get coins for runes, the fair can offer between 1m-1999k coins for 10 gems, and sometimes trade credits for coins. Make sure you save up your rune fragments to make runes that will help you later on (vitality/bane/adept/intenseness just to name a few)

Armor and Talents - Make sure you level them in a way that makes sense. If you have a formation with no mages, dont train your magic attack+ talent as it wont help much. As far as armor I am not the best by anymeans but there is two ways of leveling them, have a tank or two (very high defense stats) raise the levels of their armor as much as you can, they will be hard to kill with such good armor, give them health runes and defense runes to be even harder to beat, and combo this with raising your offensive people weapons very high (like 20+) and do not level their armor at all, they dont need defense much if you have a tank in front of them, and with the amazing offense they have they will take out your enemies quickly, and it makes up for your tank being weak on offense.
^ that is the set up the number 1 rank power on my server uses, it works well for him but as for me i take a different approach since i like to quest. I raise all of my armor up gradually, all of my armor is level 7 or 8 and on my strongest offensive units i raise their weapon up as much as i can (over 20) this way, if somebody on the front line dies then my next person will still have some defense to survive with.

-edit- for boss events, it is almost always worth it to boost using credits, the extra damage you do gives you more coins, credits, and rep. not to mention if you boost you have a better chance to finish top 3. the rep you get from boosting will help get a higher title and that will give you more credits every day.

I generally don't lurk but will attack in heroic of opportunity allows. Lurking at lower heroics only brings peeps I can't attack because of my lvl (59 now), and lurking at higher heroics brings peeps who can kill me quick. So.... not doing it much anymore. But in beginner stages it can be a good source of coin, creds and rep.

Just remember to not go afk, or someone will get you first. And don't challenge heroic and claim rewards or you can't lurk there til next day. Below stairs is a good place to sit and watch for prey. Or in far rt corner of ring in heroics you can't beat yet. In ring for heroics you can beat, heroic will always engage battle if you try to just sit there. Lol! Takes time to learn the tricks, but when you do at lower levels this one can help you alot. Same with hanging out in wilds after grinding.

Just remember to be alert when you go to grind in wilds, do Heavens palace or heroic realms. Get familiar with who is around you in arena and leaderboard ranks and try to find out who you can kill and who can kill you. In attacks, you can't check other player's equipment, only attack. But if you know who can kill you an see them in these areas, hit refresh fast or back to get out before they can attack you. Not much you can do though if you get attacked when in the middle of a battle.

Julies, good tips, I do most of that already. On the tavern cards, I try to either pick the same card each time, or the card the purple is on. When I chose the one it's on, it shows up somewhere else. When I click somewhere else, it shows up on same card slot. lol So I'm just going to stick to the same card slot it shows up in, hopefully eventually, I'll get it.
My runes are pretty good. Did get the final blow once and got the 10000k coins. My archer and mage do all the killing, and have 3 tanks with low offence, but decent defence. RUnes are the best thing I got really. I kill people 50-80k more power then me. Rank 7 on realm when I take it that far, but currently dropped back on porpose to be able to hit lower rank person and take there stakes.
Finally got more chest guards and getting them up in lvl, starting with tanks first, then me and my mage.
Can't camp out in heroic realm, because the higher rank guys do the same and smoke me. I totally hate pirates, and never try now. Rank #2 guy on realm hates me and always comes in to take my map. 2 weeks and lvl 48, never got pirates done.

Rank #2 guy has spent nothing. And has way better runes then the big rank #1 who coins alot. If some one can get that high and spend no money, I can't bring my self to spend another dime. All I did was the $5 thing.
I been trading coins for credits and gems in fair this whole time. Been a big help. I seem to gave a good stradigy in telents and blacksmith because I have always been in the top 10 on realm.
The thing I havn't done much of is kill players in the wild. Each time I do, it turns out to be a stronger guy from another realm, and i lose coins, and then get revenged daily by them to lose even more.

Every one else has all purple and orange hero's. I know if I had those same hero's I would be so much better off. The stary thing around my head in fights is beginning to own me

Lol! Shayd has been eluding me at the tavern forever. I have 3 purples, and Catherine. Her runes make her nage attacks strong and very few misses, but very little stun power. I keep getting stunned to death by Shayd or Smoulder on all of my arena opponents, and trying to unequip and drop down in arena has not worked for days of trying. Just part of the game.

Before attacking in the wild, check rankings. It will give you a basic understanding of what you're in for (not all the time).
Time your upgrades so you'll have what you need when the upgrade is complete.
Never keep a large amount of coin/cred on you. There are always players lurking to take it from you, and you need it more than them.
Work on getting a full team before trying to boost all your heroes to Saints.
Save your Spirits for said needed heroes.
Have no shame in farming others, it is a war game and it is competitive. If you need the coins/creds, you have to work your butt off to get them.
Never stop trying to cross in Pirates, chances do come and you will get across.
Invest in Guild Techs. They help more than you know.

I could make a long list of the things to keep you in top spots, but chances are, everyone will tell you these things if you just ask them. People pay to get an advantage over you, so you have to work hard to keep up. I keep in top 10 in Arena and am only VIP1, and do not buy anything at all. It isn't impossible to do, just tough - And you know what? If you can keep up with high spenders and you don't have to spend, what does that say about you? You win some and you lose some, and there will always be people better than you. Is just the way the game works. I hope you figure out how to keep up and have fun with the game!
