Longest fail streak on stars

my last 15/16 sanctify cards have either failed or been an attribute the hero can't use. My last 12 star attempts have failed on the same hero at 45%. I'm starting to notice a trend here.

Just cleared heaven's palace which took about 4 hours to beat and changing formation over and over to get 100 scores only to be rewarded with a shayd card which gave me physical attack, I give up.
