Cards? What's the easiest way to obtain them?

I'm curious, I play fairly regularly and am now level 54, 600K power. I have never received a card. Most of my opponents have each hero sanctified several times over, I assume I'm missing something.

What is the regular way to get cards?

drop $100 to $300 and hope that you don't get.. let me check my notepad... I'm now at 16/17 cards used that either failed or I was given an attribute that the hero can't use making it worthless and increasing the fail rate. Something to consider before you spend money on it. I'm also on 13 fails in a row trying to go from 4 to 5 stars on 1 hero that is suppose to have 45% success rate.

Even spending money, where do you actually get cards?

If you have a hero and select it again at the tavern you can recruit it again as a hero card for sanctification. Purple and gold only.

you can also get them at the fair or lab but they are only to sanctify, you have to pick the correct card and get from tavern for the hero.

Save all your credits from Farming, Events, Shrine, whatever and use them in the Heroes Tavern. If you shuffle and pick a card that has a white, blue, purple or gold hero , and you do NOT have the hero in your inventory, you are given the option to spend more credits to recruit him/her into your inventory. If you land on a card (only purple and gold) of a hero you already have, you are given the option to spend even more credits to claim the card which is used to sanctify your purple or gold hero. The price is based on your level. Each refresh of the tavern costs several thousand credits, depending on your level. Right now each refresh costs me almost 90k credits @ lvl 74. Each refresh that reveals a purple or gold hero will earn you two spirit points, which you can later (much later) use to redeem hero's or hero cards from the tavern (Redeem link). Shayd costs 1200, Adamanti is 1800, Purple hero cards are 500 etc... I hear that much of this is about to change, so start saving/refreshing asap.

easy and cards in the same sentence is an oxymoron ... lol
the odds of actually selecting a hero from the tavern is extremely low ... well hell even lower then extremely .. lol
and God help you if you actually some day get a hero card and want to sanctify your hero... the chances of that actually working is less O.o

I understand trying to create a world with challenges... but it seems as tho the environment actually leans more towards improbable ..
which will cause many to stop spending real money on this site ... I know for myself and a few others I have spoke with .. we do not see any reason too, when the odds of failure are so great.

Dude, seriouslY? Are you waiting for someone to come hugs you and make it all better? Stop spamming EVERY thread with your complaints about your star lack of success rate. No one MADE you spend tons of cash on the game, the devs ARE NOT out to get you and you only, and your lack of understanding that percentages mean nothing except that you have a certain chance PER TRY, not cumulatively.

SERIOUSLY, go play Farmville. This is a game or chance, and has about the same odds as hitting the jackpot spin on slots in Vegas. It happens, but RARELY, and people put millions and millions into machines before a decent spin will come up. DEAL WITH IT OR GO ELSEWHERE.

@Newb... lol! Don't hold your breath for any "good" changes. If they implement one, it will come packaged in a patch with a bug that will nullify it or make it worse. Last night I spent 500 spirits for Cianna's card, It took, And I got a huge MAGIC ATTACK buff. *facepalm* Roll of the dice.

Lol well some of us... don't even have all the heroes recruited yet... therefore we don't suffer from the lack of luck when buying spirits, but we do fail at getting heroes in the tavern by chance.
