It's a pvp game. So it's not going to be only same power against same power. I agree that the odds of getting good heroes and star upgrades are unbalanced, but it will always favor the house, just like in Vegas. Think of it like shooting craps. Once in awhile you will, most of the time you will lose.
And people will no stop spending money on this game, just as people are still spending money on Evony, even though that game is filled with bot players. The game is still young here, so opening more servers will keep drawing in new suckers...errrr..players. Some of whom will spend big bucks to try to be #1 on their server. Some will be experience players and know how to spend wisely, and use rewards wisely. Others will spend foolishly, and either go to next new server and spend again, or keep spending foolishly on their current one.
It's a business. They care about profit first, and the business plan seems to be working. If people start to leave after a while, they may eventually start fixing servers, upgrading servers from the crapp low bandwidth ones they have now, may be even merger servers eventually. But I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for any big changes for a long time. Welcome to capitalism and big profit margin games. Get used to it or try another game. Like Farmville.
