anyone had their medals just disappear when trying for a new star level? 4-5 took 3 blue medals, except i didnt fail and lose a star, nor did i gain a star. HELP PLEASE!

At 4 going to 5 stars you have a "reprieve" that keeps you from losing a star if the up doesn't take. But you will still lose your medals if it fails. If it took, you should have seen a golden glowing line shoot up from the medals to your hero above. If you didn't see that and get the "Upgrade successful" notification, it failed. Lol. Get used to it. Some people have all the luck and have success after success without fails. And some of us have runs of fails and lost medals for days or weeks. Just get more medals and try again.

I have noticed with my success and fail streaks, that starring up all heroes in order, evenly and right after reset seems to work better. More successes, less fails for me that way. And better luck with successful starring for me when I star asap after getting the needed medals, rather than building up a stash and trying. But this is just what my experience has been so far, so mileage will vary widely. Don't ever pay 10 gems for blue medals. They often come up for 2-5 at the fair, and in the lab. And occasionally drop from chests in the arena. It's like shooting craps or playing the slots. Sometimes you win, many, many times you don't.

Hope that helps a little. there are alot of different ideas out there about this. So take all the opinions, (except those from people saying that the devs are out to get them and make them fail all the time, rigged the game against them ONLY and post their whiny crap about it every 30 minutes every day...) , and hopefully you'll have better luck next time. Heros with lower star counts and the right armor, talents and runes, can be just as powerful as higher star level heros with bad equipment and crappy runes. If your stars fail, until you get enough medals to try again, work on getting armor upped, talents upped in the right ways, and runes that will make your heros stronger, not just more powerful in numbers. Should be lots of threads on those things elsewhere in the forums.
