You should have been given Catherine as part of the training quest. There isn't much information to go on to help solve this.

Yes I got her, I was asking about the 2nd hero, what do I need to recruit a 2nd hero, and do I have to wait or what? I have unlocked it in my talents but when I go to the tavern it wont let me recruit... also thanks for your speedy reply!
Ahhh... Ok you need to shuffle the cards then pick one. The one you select is offered up as a recruitable hero. You can refresh the choices by spending credits using the refresh button.
If you get a purple or gold when you refresh, you get 2 spirits per gold/purple that pops up in the mix. Save them to recruit later on.
