Unfortunately, a host is the only one who can remove themselves from that position. You can still do GWs with your VHs but you won't be able to promote any new ones without a host.
That said, there is a precedent for this. If you contact CS either through the Tynon homepage and clicking billing support or using the link in my sig. Explain your predicament and who you would like as your host.
