Ok if implemented that way, it would not be a bad idea, unless you get to the point of having all the plans you can grind for based upon those conditions and are stuck at beating one of the 2 or 3 bosses you need to unlock all the materials for the next item.

I doubt there is something that would make everyone happy.

There is another option you should have in this poll
Remove plan drops all together form WB, and replace them with something else, or increasing the other rewards you get. Say 1st place gets a 5x multiplier on teh coins credits and rep for the WB, 2nd gets a 3x multiplier and 3rd gets a 2x multipler. This idea is only a suggestion. The option would be remove plans form wb rewards and replace it with something else

All I can tell you that Server 4 hasn't really complained about the new WB drop system. which leads me to believe that most players are pretty indifferent to the whole thing. The only ones who would vote in the poll are the ones who have an actual opinion, whether they agree with the patch or not.
If Tynon is interested on what the players think then a tread with a poll could be created and they can send an announcement mail in the game with a link to the poll.

I think this has been a great conversation. and should not be closed regardless of if someone happens to in the next 24 hours comes up with something new to contribute. It takes time for people to weigh in. Even restating something form 3 pages ago is helpful to new comers to the convo who may have skipped over some of the old stuff. And not evey one plays or posts everyday, so a 24 hour time frame even if there is a rule about having to add new content to a thread to keep it open, is just not enough time. What if the person who has something very intelligent to add is sick today? We lose out on the benefit of their thoughts because they didnt post it quick enough?

This thread was started 6 days ago. It would logical to assume that everyone who has an opinion on this subject has given it. There is no point keeping a thread open for people to do little more in it than repeat themselves and bash those with opposing thoughts.

To keep this open indefinitely would just lead it to off topic and spam filled. From one or two comments made in the last day it's starting to head that way now.

I've actually been enjoying following this thread. I feel that great ideas don't happen overnight, and sometimes take MUCH deliberation and thought, and lots of input for them to ever become something that could be of use. Closing a thread because something "New" hasn't been added to it just causes us to have to open yet another thread and start the whole process over again as far as deliberation goes. Sometimes these posts can get heated, yes, but it doesn't mean that the ideas therein are any less valid, and most certainly does not constitute the thread being dumped into the nether regions of forum (where these ideas and possible solutions will never be seen by any dev or anyone else for that matter). Forums are a place for us to converse outside of game and discuss gameplay, our grievances with it, things we're happy with AND ideas we'd like to see implemented.

I have re read the entire thread. yes some stuff is being repeated. Not really seeing the bashing, I do see some gentle ribbing.

SO what if it was started 6 days ago. It took them 7 days to take this plan from beta to live. Dawn has not replied to a direct question of his explanation that it is not intended for 1st to get better plans then 2nd and 3rd. I am still waiting for his response on what is the difference then in getting 2nd and 3rd if they have always had the plans they give out determined in the exact same way.

I do not see how it is logical to assume that everyone has weighed in on this. Since threads have been left open indefinitely on other topics. I see posts that are weeks old suddenly get a new post. Yet those threads are not closed because nothing new has been contributed.

ANd in regards to becoming spam filled, well tbh most of teh spam in this thread has been generated by your threat to close the thread

The trouble is I can count the number of members who had constructively contributed to this thread in the last 36 hours on one hand. There isn't nothing new and although VilianX I have read you post and taken your opinion on board, my job is stop things before they get "heated".

As I said I'm giving it one last chance, if I didn't think there was even a small chance of this going somewhere I would have closed it by now. So I will wait and see.

And Matt, in not keeping it open so you continually moan about it .

Having frequented forums for over 15 years myself, I can say that gaming forums in particular find value in threads that remain relevant to the current patch status. There hasn't been a patch yet that changes the way these bosses drop plans, so this thread is still completely relevant to players. All that closing it does is increase the possibility that some other person will create a similar thread because they can't immediately find this one.

That aside, I can't say I'm fully pleased with the current implementation. I can craft at least some Guardian gear and I'm getting Guardian and Ironheart materials from the Arena. It seems loopy for me to be stuck back at Champion gear just because the Heroic Realm bosses are ridiculously powerful.

Not exactly true. The official thread on all patch notes is this one http://bbs.tynon.com/showthread.php?...-Notes-8-23-13. Dawnseeker always opens a new thread on patches so players can discuss any new implentations and can offer their thoughts and whether there are bugs with the new patch.

This was merely a player one created by someone who felt strongly enough to open one on this subject. So the good news is if this thread gets closed down you still have somewhere to go to offer up your opinion.

A thread specific to an entire patch is helpful only while that is the latest patch. When a new patch is released (whatever the date is of our next patch), if boss drops remain the same, then this thread will be the most relevant thread for players to discuss this topic, as the old patch notes thread will be completely unintuitive. Players coming newly to the forums to contribute to the conversation aren't going to think to go to thread "Patch Notes 8-23-13", but if they see a thread about world boss drops in General Discussion (the forum most players frequent who aren't filing bugs or technical support questions) then they immediately have a relevant thread to add their viewpoint to.

Believe me, Morgan, I fully appreciate your efforts as a moderator. I know it's not an easy responsibility to have, voluntary or not. I'm simply offering up that there are some threads worth keeping open if they pertain to the current state of the game, even if that state was patched in 5 or even 10 patches ago. I also realize you are free to mull over or dismiss what I have to say here as you wish, so I'll leave it at that as you ultimately decide what lives or dies here.

Hmm i must have forgotten to click post or someone deleted my previous comment

    I must try again

It is sad to see that the person threatening to close this thread over bashing and spam, is actually creating the spam and is openly bashing several members in this thread. That is why iI have reported her post and hope to see an Admin take action against her.

Now can we get back to our lively discussion on a topic many of us apparently feel very passionately about?
