Anyone that thinks the "fight" that plays out in the animated portion of the combat means anything are silly. Even graphical glitches like this do nothing to the results. The entire outcome of the fight was rolled and calculated the moment you engaged in the attack, before the combat sequence even loads. Everything after that is pointless presentation to let you watch whatever result was rolled. So glitches like this one, don't affect anything.
Brings up another interesting thing we could use - OPTION TO TURN OFF ANIMATION AND CUT TO THE CHASE.
