    Carribean Suggestion

When you rob a boat at the dock, the fight takes a looooooong time to play out if it's a good fight. The way it's set up is that the winner immediately appears in the boat and has to wait the duration of the fight to hop out if that's what one wants to do. Rather than appearing in the boat, why not just have the winner get the map half without the boat? Or, give an option to bypass the fight scene if desired.

You can bypass the battle scene by refreshing. Hit then refresh, and you stand a better chance of having time to disembark the ship without someone else hitting you. And don't bother with turning off players, sound and music after refresh. Just get to the harbor asap and get off the ship. Although an attack cooldown that gives 3 minutes from the time you hit to take the map and when someone can attack you would be a good thing. However, I think the devs have alot of fixing to do before they break the game with another "patch".

Pirates is survival of the fittest. Right now the toughest guy who's paying attention will usually wind up with the map half and we're pretty comfortable with that situation for the time being. Sometimes we'll see 4 or 5 different people claim the map half in rapid succession. That's pretty cool and we like that sort of competition!

Remember it doesn't cost you one of your 3 Sail attempts unless you actually begin the crossing, so the only penalty if you lose the map before you can get out of the boat is your attack cooldown of 5 minutes. No big deal!

If you are worried about someone taking your map half before you start sailing, then you can ask a more powerful member of your guild who has the other half to get in as soon as they see you in the boat. They don't need to wait for the battle to complete, as long as you're the winner.

What I quoted here works pretty well. Refresh covers most other cases. Only time you really lose here is if someone was baiting an attack with two accounts or in tandem with another guild member (This is an easy way to get revenge opportunities that might not otherwise present themselves).

o First point - you don't suffer cool down if you get attacked... only if you attack. So, no penalty there.
However, if you are attacking (as in your case), yes, you do suffer the cool down. It's only 4 minutes...

o Second point - if you ask the stronger member to get in first, problem solved.

I also like the rapid-fire succession of ownership of these pieces... really adds to the flavor and texture of the game.

And, a minor bug that we find hilarious (that I HOPE they don't remove) is when two members of the same guild click to attack a ship at the same time, we end up fighting each other when, normally, that would never happen. Nice. Adds texture. Fun. Makes for some great inter-guild ribbing.

Not to hijack this thread but it seems good spot to put this.

I would like to suggest that you impose the rules for attacking in the wild to pirates also. Mainly the 3 level lower rule. It seems kind of ridiculous having a player that is 5-6 levels higher than you and 4-5 times your power attacking you while sailing. When in the wild they cannot attack you.

That's no fun. I like that everyone's fair game in pirates.

It's not really fun when you get attacked and sunk by the same person every time you try to sail. No I am not talking about stealing a map piece while sitting on the beach. I am talking about starting to sail then being attacked.
