Another possible solution is change the game so that Vice-Hosts can replace themselves with another member or to assign a member as the 2nd Vice-Host if the Guild only has one Vice-Host. This is not a perfect solution because there is no way to remove a Vice-Host if he/she does not want to step down, but it would keep the ownership of the Guild intact in case the original Host comes back.
