I'm not saying that there is no proof to it, I'm just saying that most people don't know the proofs. Ask your friends if the earth rotates around the sun. Then, ask them to explain why they know it. Some will understand that they have faith in this information, others will have knowledge about it. The ones who wrote this guide have knowledge; you, on the other hand, should have faith in it.

Now, if you use it and find something that doesn't seem to fit what is told in this guide, then it will be worth testing. Until then, I don't see any reason for doing all those tests. No one needs stats to back up a model that works. It's too much work and it is exhaustive. Why do this statistical work, which no one needs, when you could progress in the heroic realm instead?
Because it takes only a couple minutes to finish the progress in the heroic realm and it takes a whole day before you can do it again? And the fact that it takes only extra minutes to just record down my encounters (hey, the guide recommends drawing a whole map as you go through the labyrinth. That takes even more time than just "this tile gets me one more move, change this number 4 to 5")? Why should I have faith in the guide, without any proof? Is this a religion now, where the older players are prophets of some kind? Why should I not get this knowledge as well so that I can, you know, actually contribute to the guide? All I know is that the evidence is missing, the hard numbers are missing, I'm just filling that gap. Your claim that "there are people who have been here longer than you, so you should just listen" is ridiculous and frankly, I find horrifying. What's the difference between that and a cult?

Not to mention I like doing tests. It's fun by itself. And it's not that I don't believe what people say. I just want confirmation.
