    Valkyrie needs your help

Hello any and all members of Bow of Athena.

my name is Brian and I am the Vice Host of Valkyrie. we are currently extremely short-handed in the host department. our host has not logged in for 15days and our other VH has not logged in for 7.

we are requesting tynon's immediate help with this matter as we have other active members who would love to fill these positions but need to have TYNON promote someone first. Please share your testimonies on this forum about Valkyrie and their impact on our server. in the spirit of competition and fair play we need your help. Tell Tynon to help us out sooner than later as i see guild member interest declining and subscribers to this game dropping off.

    thanks all.

    Major guild issues

    Hello All,

i am the Vice-Host of Valkyrie, currently the #1 ranked guild on server 7 Bow of Athena, one of the very early servers in this game.

As a guild we are having a crisis right now with our Host missing suddenly for 15 days and our other vice host has been missing for 7.

both of these players were highly active on a daily basis, even hourly basis and were both the #1 ranked player on our server at some point. Now they are both gone without warning.

I am asking Tynon to help out and make me Host for now so that I can make changes but they are concerned that our VIP 7 Host has spent too much money to just be brushed aside.

Please make some comments here and let us know what you think. Am i asking for too much? Should we just forget about our Level 5 Guild, the #1 Guild on server 7? Should tynon help us out?

    any opinion counts..

    Thanks, BMan008

There really needs to be a way to replace hosts in the event that they go AWOL. The issue with this is that guilds level up and gain benefits over time, so an absent host killing a guild not only hurts because one can't properly administer it, but also because it's not so simple as just making a new one. Valkyrie is a lvl4 or 5 guild. It would LITERALLY take months for them to regain what they would lose if they started a new one. I understand that it costs gems to start a guild, and I really do appreciate Tynon's effort to protect our individual investments, but in the case of a guild, the needs of the many outweigh the investment of one person; and because a guild like Valkyrie coins pretty hard, so if a group like that quits out of frustration, it affects the bottom line of the entire server.

Testimonies about Valkyrie and their impact? I sink as many as I can.

Cheers Valk, I hope Tynon straightens this out for you.

I posted something similar to this in the BoA section, but it bears repeating.

i saw a post maybe a month ago about the same exact situation.. as much as you and i think tynon should do something about it.. i also understand that it's part of the game and they shouldn't have to do anything. i can see it begin to happen more & more as everyone leaves old servers to start on newer ones or just abandon the game.

a possible solution could be to add a weekly polling system in each individual guild, each member can vote once a week for the host & the host can elect 2 vh's. this way if you have host/vh become inactive, all you have to do is wait till the end of the week and a well structured guild would probably keep the vote for the same host each week so it would be a win-win for everyone.

    ^This.

The trouble is hosts are moving to new servers or quitting altogether are not doing what they should be doing. Namely handing over the hostship to another guild member. It's been happening a lot lately and there have been several threads from guilds having similar problems to you.

As I'm not a Tynon employee I can only offer my opinion to what I think is going on rather than actual fact, but since its become a common request it's possible Tynon have decided to curb the amount of host reassignments. You will have to meet a certain amount if criteria before Tynon's devs will intervene. In short, they want to encourage players and hosts in particular to take some responsibility.

I do as everyone else does here, sympathise with your situation.

This has happen. Tynon Dev did step in. So if you did it for Sol Guild in fairness you should do it for Valkyrie. Sol had option to move player to other Guilds(Heros Call) but they were number 1 guild in light realm and the Tynon devs stepped in and helped. Sol is still number 1 in Light realm and the rest does not matter. So you help 1 you need to help all. no matter what else you think what is good for 1 is good for all. Thanks, ABK SOL

Look at the suggestions I posted on the original tread for this issue, namely
    1. Ask Tynon to email the Host using the email address associated with the account. If the email is not valid and the host is inactive then assign a new host since the original host's account is fraudulent. If it is valid wait for a reasonable amount of time (a week) for an answer. If they do not get one assign a new Host.
    2. Ask Tynon to appoint a Vice-Host to fill the vacancy.

The real solution here would be to allow a vote-kick to a host who hasn't logged on in the last 14-15 days. Get at least 15 votes or half the guild membership (whichever is smaller), and the host is kicked and automatically replaced with the vice host (or if one doesn't exist, member) who most recently logged in.

It's simple and effective and keeps people moving forward on their own without manual developer intervention.

it's just one of those things you hate to see happen, i feel just feel bad for them. it happens in every game but i guess when it comes down to it, if your spending $ for the guild it becomes a customer support issue, so i do think their should be some accountability on Tynon's part.
