Thread: The Guild Chest Card pick is already predetermined.

The Guild Chest Card pick is already predetermined.

Honestly, If this is the implementation, they should just get rid of the card pick altogether.

Want to know what your prize will be before you pic a card? Here's what you do......

Select Unlock under the chest you are wanting to purchase with guild contribution. Don't click shuffle. Click the "X" instead.

Select Unlock again, which ever card is exactly the same as the last set of choices is your prize. If there are still multiple cards that are identical to the previous set, repeat the steps until only one remains.

So much for any illusion that you have any control over your destiny. At least this way, you can decide if it is worth the points for the item. Unfortunately, there is no way to refresh the choice. If you log out, reboot, log back in, even if the server resets. The item in the chest stays the same. Only way past it is to chose it and hope for something better in the next chest.

    Enjoy!

Honestly... just get rid of the choice and throw something at me when I click "Unlock" rather than trying to fool me please.

How does this matter? Whether its randomly determined when you click shuffle or some other time, its still random.

The thing is, it's "randomly" determined before you press shuffle, not after. The illusion is then broken. Also, there is no way to reset this determination once made. I don't have to spend the points and I already know what the game is going to chose for me.

A better implementation would be to get rid of the card choice all together and just shoot the determined item to the person rather than give a card choice. At the moment, the only cards that re-randomize are the ones that are already determined as not picked.

If you wish to maintain the illusion of choice, remove the shuffle function all together and just show the backs of 5 cards as you do in Heaven's Palace and Boss Fights.

Tynon is a program. All online games are programs. Programs can only provide for the illusion of randomness.
As long as one person still speaks my name, I shall never truly die.

Not necessarily. It could provide a different set off odds for the different cards and then calculate what card shows up based on that. For example if there is one gold hero the odds could be something like 1% 1.5% 0.5% 1% 3% or something like that. The location of the odds would be random, of course. This will give the picking od the card some meaning while still maintaining the low odds that a gold card has. Note that the odds I used are examples only and I do not know if the actual odd for a gold would be higher or lower.

Technically any computer generated randomness is pseudo-random.

I tried a different test on the "random" picking... I did it in Heaven Tavern. First, I refresh until there is a purple or gold, for 20 times in a row, I clicked on the prize based off of what it initially showed, for example, if the gold card was the 2nd card, I clicked the 2nd card as the choice. Not once did it give me the gold card. then 20 times in a row, I clicked a different card and purposely avoided the cards original spot and MOST of the time, I'd say 75%, my desired card stayed in it's original spot... So, the point of true random or even chance is that if you actually pay money for this game, you want a chance to win something. However, if the game already knows that your not going to get anything good for the next (some determined number) draws, then letting people pay for that "chance" is kind of stealing from them.

Yes it is predetermined and the sooner you accept that the quicker you will get over it. I for one knowing that have no issue clicking on any card not trying to guess where it will be as I know it is already been predetermined so click anywhere and you get what is already chosen for you

This tread is going nowhere. It is a fact that the card picked anywhere in the game does not affect the result. It is predetermined.

    Closing the tread.
