Trading sounds very good in principle.

But when implemented, it's horrible for game balancing in any MMO.

You could always limit trading to players who have reached at least level 30 or 40 or even 50. That way it's not trivial to start trading, but you actually have to invest in a character before trading can occur. A lot of problems go away if you make the barrier to entry for trading a significant investment of time and effort. Even going at a breakneck pace, getting level 50 takes a while.

The problem is allowing trading at level 1. That never works out very well unless it's limited to your account only (like alt trading or a central bank for your characters).
