1. Tynon is on the hook for any glitches/ issues that are created by the software/ programmers. If there is a glitch or issue, it is on Tynon to locate and find those and if a player benefits from a glitch or issue, then that is the fault of the creator, not the player.

2. Banning 1 person from what is deemed to be "egregious" by the developers of this game is completely bogus. If you used the glitch to get 100 coins or 100000000000000 billion zillion coins... you are in the same category as someone who is exploiting a glitch for personal gains and if that is the case... AND if you are going to ban 1 person... you ban them ALL. Every single person who got a coin should be banned, or you refer back to my first point.

3. This ban affects more than just the player in question. This affects our entire guild. Since this was one of our top 2 players, this changes the entire dynamics of the game for myself and our guild in question. Less safe sails, affects guild warfare etc etc... so before you decide to make this permanent, you need to take all of these factors into consideration.

I will not discuss nor address the issue with any specific player. This game is not a democracy and players don't vote on the rules of the game or how they are enforced. Our rules are very much the same as many other games, including World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and other popular multiplayer and MMO games. The rule (pertaining to this issue) is simple: If you find a bug, report it. If you exploit the bug for personal gain, then you may well be hit with consequences, because we're trying to keep the game fair for the people who aren't exploiting bugs.

I will address in general terms what you've stated.

  1. We are indeed "on the hook" for bugs, and we work to fix them. However, we don't always know about every bug. If a player is exploiting a bug instead of reporting it, then they are also "on the hook" for their actions. The penalty must be more severe than the benefit, or players will be incentivized to exploit bugs, rather than report them. We want to discourage such behavior.
  2. 100 Coins and 1,000,000,000 Coins are not the same. One billion coins can alter the balance of the server. 100 coins won't. This is what constitutes a major violation. Even so, a single violation is not enough to warrant a ban. Multiple violations are required for a ban. Think on that.
  3. What altered the balance of the server was the exploit. If the player had not exploited, he or she would not be in the top tier of the server. By removing the exploiter, we are restoring the server balance. Additionally, if a player chooses to exploit, then they are knowingly taking the risk that they will be caught and suspended or banned. Those consequences are on the exploiter. If the person did not exploit, there would be no consequences.
