I too would like some clarification of this, especially the part in bold. Yes, we all know morale based heroes benefit from increases in skill attack because they, by nature, have a regular attack (physical) and a special attack (skill). Now here is where it is not clear ANYWHERE in game: every attack a Mage does is announced like a special attack. IF Mage's do benefit from skill attack, could it be that it increases the damage dealt, or possible the accuracy problem, or is it the chance of stunning/hitting all 5 heroes (shayd/smoulder, respectively)?
The confusion for me stems from a few sources.
1) As Andy noted, the addition of a sapphire does increase power, yet adept does nothing power wise. So is the sapphire just making the spirit more powerful, and if so does it translate into magic attack in any way?
2) The pronouncement of Skill Attacks. Why announce a morale based hero's special attack in the same manner as a Mage's normal attack if they are not both the same "type" of attack, i.e. Skill Attacks?
Again, I understand where people are coming from by saying a skill attack is only applicable to morale based heroes, however no where in game is that distinguished. Also, I find it interesting that at any given talent level (SoS ~ PA ~ IM) a Mage's attack is roughly equivalent to a morale based hero's skill attack, holding all else equal. Just some food for thought.
