I do not mind failing while trying to upgrade stars on my heroes. But, losing a star if you fail makes it not even worth the risk after the 2nd star. I would like to see the star loss removed from the game.

It actually makes sense to loss that star. That's why there's a percent chance of upgrading.
Stars gives power, so you'll ether gain or loose.
However I see your point and I can agree as well with it.

[QUOTE]
It gives a % chance to upgrade, it doesn't say there is a 13% chance of upgrade and 87% chance of becoming weaker. I see it as training the troops. One does not come out weaker after training even if he doesn't pass the class.
hrmm, the quote didn't work.
I quit Age2 after i went from 13 set to 10 set after spending 7000 blue gems. I am quitting this too after stars failed again and again.
In gambling you loose your current bet. Here you loose what was earned in earlier bets. It is your game and you can set whatever rules you want. But they should at-least make some logical sense. Don't punish players for spending time and money here.
If stars didnt fail, sooner or later, everyone's heroes would be at 15 stars.
What is the problem with it? If two players spend equal amount of medals in star upgrades, they should get same result. We are playing game here not lottery. If developers want to make money from stars system, they should make it simple and fair.
Something like
star 1 needs 1 medal
star 2 needs 10 medals
star 3 needs 100 medals and so on.
What I would like to see is that if upgrade fails it not looses any star but next attempt cost one more medal.
So for each failed attempt 1 medal is added to the cost, but is reset again as soon as you have an attempt that is a success.

The point peeps are trying to make is:
Yes - you can lose stars on an upgrade - that isn't the problem, and is accepted.
The problem is losing the ones you already have. This will put off a lot of peeps.
Trying to upgrade from 3 stars to 4, only to end up with only 1 star is NOT right.
